Zeeshan Siddiqui, Son of Late NCP Leader Baba Siddiqui, Joins Ajit Pawar's NCP Faction; Set to Contest Bandra East Seat
Late NCP leader Baba Siddiqui's son Zeeshan has joined the party. Ajit Pawar gave Zeeshan a ticket from the Bandra East seat. Zeeshan is a Congress MLA from this seat. Now, he will contest elections on the ticket of the NCP Ajit Pawar faction. At the same time, in Mahavikas Aghadi, the Bandra seat is on the account of Shiv Sena Udhav Thackeray. The party has fielded Varun Desai in the election.
On Friday itself, Zeeshan Siddiqui joined NCP and he also got a ticket from Bandra East seat. Ajit Pawar himself welcomed Siddiqui to the party.
Zeeshan Siddiqui said, “This is an emotional day for me and my family. Even in this difficult time, Ajit Pawar, Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare have expressed confidence in me. I will win the Bandra East assembly seat again with everyone's love and trust.”
Zeeshan Siddiqui is the son of Baba Siddiqui, a veteran leader of Maharashtra. He was shot dead in Bandra on the night of Dussehra on October 12. Lawrence Bishnoi's name had surfaced in this case. A total of 10 people have been arrested so far. The police are still searching for the main shooter.
Zeeshan has also been the former president of Mumbai Youth Congress. After his father's murder, Zeeshan shared a post on Instagram. In this, Zeeshan wrote, now the killers have their eyes on him. But he is not going to be afraid. My father was a lion. Lion's blood runs in my veins. This fight is not over yet. Today I stand where my father stood. People of Bandra East, I am always with you.
Let us tell you that voting is to be held on all 288 seats of Maharashtra on November 20. The counting of votes will be done on November 23. At the same time, Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena (UBT) has also released the first list of 65 candidates.
