Youth Laud CM for Giving Them Government Jobs Completely on Merit

Chandigarh, August 13: The youth of the state have given a thumbs up to the campaign of the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann-led state government to give jobs to the youth completely on the basis of merit.

Manish Sharma, who completed his master's in 2021, said that he had been vying for a government job since then. He appreciated the change in the system, saying that earlier jobs were "on sale" in the state, but now youth are getting jobs solely on merit. This job has changed his fortune, as he had planned to go abroad but now has a government job along with all his classmates.

Another youth from village Sherpur Sodhian near Dhuri, who has been working in a private firm for 14 years, said that due to the apathy of previous governments, they had lost hope of getting a government job. However, with the change in government, things have changed, and youth are now getting jobs on merit.

Maninder Kaur, a private teacher from Ludhiana, said that it's a dream come true for her. She noted a reverse trend, with students from abroad coming to the state in hope of getting jobs. Hundreds of students are getting coaching from her center in Ludhiana after coming from foreign countries.

Komal Sagar said that she had been waiting for this day since long and had appeared in numerous competitive exams. Unfortunately, during previous regimes, exam results were not declared, leaving youth depressed. However, a paradigm shift is being witnessed today, with youth getting jobs in a transparent manner.

Randhir Singh, a class wrestler, said that he was selected to Punjab Police in 2008 but was ousted in 2012. He went to the US and Canada but is now running a wrestling academy and has got the job of Patwari without any recommendation or bribe. He credited Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann for this revolution in the state.

Harpreet, who had done IELTS to migrate to foreign shores, said that he was frustrated due to the callousness of earlier governments towards youth. However, after the formation of the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, he decided to appear in an exam for a government job. He was selected and now has a government job.

Sarabjit Singh, who also got a government job, said that he had served the Indian army for 18 years before joining here. He appreciated the incumbent government for bringing a revolutionary change by giving government jobs to youth on merit, an encouraging trend.
