Wayanad Landslide: Rahul Gandhi Feels Father's Death Agony
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra reached Wayanad on Thursday (August 1). During this, both the leaders took stock of the situation and also met the victims. Rahul Gandhi said that he is feeling the same emotions as he had at the time of the death of his father and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1991.
More than 290 people were killed and about 200 were injured in this devastating landslide. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said on Thursday that it is painful to see the devastation caused by the landslide in Wayanad, Kerala. While visiting his former parliamentary constituency with his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Rahul Gandhi said that he is feeling the same emotions as he had at the time of the death of his father and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi in 1991.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi while addressing the press conference said, "This is a tragedy for Wayanad, Kerala and the nation. We have come here to see the situation. It is sad to see how many people have lost their family members and their homes. We will try to help and ensure that the affected victims get their rights. He said, "Many of them want to be relocated. There is a lot to be done here. I want to thank everyone including doctors, nurses, administration and volunteers.
290 more people have died so far due to landslide in Wayanad
A massive landslide occurred in Mundakkai and Chooralmala in the Wayanad district of Kerala on Tuesday (July 30) morning, causing massive destruction. More than 290 people were killed and more than 200 were injured in this accident. At present, the rescue team is engaged in searching for the missing people.
