Uttar Pradesh Government Announces Free Bus Travel for Women on Rakshabandhan; CM Yogi Reviews Flood Relief and Law & Order

Women will be able to travel free on Rakshabandhan in roadways buses in Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that because of Rakshabandhan, women will be given the facility of free travel in the buses of State Road Transport Corporation from the night of 18 August to the night of 19 August. In a meeting, CM Yogi told the officials that sisters go to tie Rakhi to their brothers on Rakshabandhan. Therefore, they should be given the facility of free travel in the buses of the corporation.

He said that the centenary year of the historic 'Kakori incident' is starting on 9 August and this whole year will be dedicated to the heroes of independence and in this series, the tricolor will be hoisted at every house, every office in the state under the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' public campaign from 13 to 15 August. Chief Minister Yogi also asked the officials to keep an eye on fake news. He said that all the districts will have to be alert. If there is any fake news, it should be immediately refuted with facts.

According to the information, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with senior officials of the state administration and reviewed the law and order and public welfare programs of the state. In the meeting, preparations were thoroughly reviewed to improve relief and rescue operations in the current flood situation and to organize festivals and necessary guidelines were given.

According to a statement, Adityanath said in the meeting, "The views of various organizations should be heard democratically, be it farmers' organizations or any other group. Their apprehensions should be addressed in a proper manner. However, no one can be given the freedom to spread anarchy.

According to a government statement, the Chief Minister ordered the police and local administration to remain alert round the clock in view of the upcoming festivals and important events like police recruitment examinations.

The Chief Minister also directed to continue relief and rescue work by local requirements in all the districts affected by the continuous rain. He directed the district officials that there should be no compromise on the quality of food items being given to the flood-affected people.
