Urban Development Minister Reviews Patna Metro Priority Corridor Progress
Bihar's Urban Development and Housing Minister Hon'ble Shri Nitin Naveen inspected the Priority Corridor of Patna Metro, where he gave many important guidelines to the officials of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. During this, Joint Secretary of the Department, Mrs. Varsha Singh was also present with him.
After the inspection, the Minister said that the work of the metro is going on at a fast pace. Civil work on the Priority Corridor from Malahi Pakadi to New ISBT is almost complete. Now the work of laying the track and purchasing the train set is going on. Along with this, the work of electric and telecom signaling will also be started soon. Our priority is that by August 2025, Patna residents start getting the facility of metro.
He told that there are five elevated metro stations in the nearly 6.5 km long Priority Corridor of Patna Metro. These include Malahi Pakadi, Khemnichak, Bhootnath, Zeromile and New ISBT Metro Station. After the start of metro operations, the city residents will reach from Malahi Pakadi to Bairia Bus Stand in just 15 minutes. At the same time, he said that the operation of the metro will reduce the pressure of increasing traffic on Patna roads. Also, the city residents will get better connectivity.
The Honorable Minister also inspected the Patna Metro Depot built near Bairia Bus Stand, where while talking to the media, he said that work from dismantling to maintenance will be done in the depot. Apart from this, a control system will also be built here. You can say that this will be the heart of the entire Patna Metro. The administrative building built here will have control system, management system, security, training center. A test track will also be constructed at the depot, where the metro trial run will take place.
