Tejashwi Yadav visits Delhi for crucial Mahagathbandhan talks

Assembly elections are to be held in Bihar in the month of October-November this year, and in view of this, political activities in the state have intensified. Major parties have started finalizing their election strategy. In this sequence, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav has reached Delhi, where he is going to hold important meetings with the Congress leadership.

Tejashwi Yadav's Delhi visit is especially to brainstorm on seat sharing and election strategy within the Mahagathbandhan. He will meet Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and possibly he may also talk to the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. According to sources, in this meeting, not only will there be an attempt to reach a final consensus on the seat sharing formula, but clarity will also be brought on the face of the Chief Minister from the Mahagathbandhan. RJD wants Tejashwi Yadav to be declared the Chief Minister's face of the alliance, while there are reports of some disagreement on this from the Congress side, due to which resentment is being seen in RJD.

Political analysts believe that the meeting can prove to be very decisive in terms of the Bihar elections. If the Mahagathbandhan is unable to reach a consensus on seat sharing and leadership, then the electoral equations can be affected.

Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav is also said to be uncomfortable with the increasing activism of Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar. It is being said that he is not happy with Kanhaiya's politics. Recently, when Rahul Gandhi visited Bihar and joined Kanhaiya Kumar's padyatra in Begusarai, Tejashwi Yadav distanced himself from that program. It is believed that Tejashwi Yadav will talk to the Congress leadership about the role of Kanhaiya Kumar as well as Congress state in-charge Krishna Allavaru and Purnea MP Pappu Yadav in the Bihar elections. Tejashwi fears that through these faces, the Congress is trying to independently build its mass base in Bihar, which can affect the unity of the Mahagathbandhan.

On the other hand, there is news that Mallikarjun Kharge may visit Bihar on 20th April. A big public meeting is proposed in Buxar, where he will try to create an atmosphere in favour of the alliance. This time, Congress is giving prominence to leaders like Kanhaiya Kumar and Pappu Yadav, whose public relations tours are attracting a lot of attention.

Now it will be interesting to see whether this important meeting to be held in Delhi can keep the Mahagathbandhan united or new equations emerge in Bihar politics.
