Supreme Court Orders Ajit Pawar's NCP Faction to Publish Disclaimer on Clock Symbol Usage
The Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered the Ajit Pawar faction's NCP to publish a disclaimer with the clock election symbol in major newspapers within 36 hours. It should also be published especially in Marathi newspapers. The court has asked the Ajit Pawar faction to file an affidavit of compliance report. The next hearing of the case will be on November 13.
Ajit Pawar's lawyer told the Supreme Court that we have filed our undertaking that we are following the previous orders of the court. We have also filed its photos. Despite all this, we are giving advertisements in newspapers with new undertakings. On this, the court said that why is it taking so much time to publish the disclaimer in the newspaper. In response to this, Ajit Pawar's lawyer alleged that the Sharad Pawar faction has given false statements to the court. There has not been a single incident of non-compliance with the court's order.
Sharad Pawar's lawyer said that the Ajit Pawar faction has removed the videos. But what is happening at the ground level is that people associated with Ajit Pawar are showing Sharad Pawar's videos. There is a clock in it. Their national working president said yesterday that nothing will happen in the court. We will fight on the clock symbol.
Supreme Court said that we allowed them (Ajit Pawar faction) to use the election symbol, but this is subject to certain conditions. Within 24 hours or a maximum of 36 hours, the Ajit Pawar faction should publish a disclaimer in newspapers. Sharad Pawar faction's lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that the previous order of the court is being disregarded every day. Ajit faction keeps saying that Sharad Pawar is our God. This is being violated repeatedly. Sharad Pawar's name with the clock symbol creates confusion.
