Shyam Rajak Returns to JDU: Nitish Kumar Reappoints Former Minister as National General Secretary
Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United) supremo Nitish Kumar has given a big responsibility in the party to former minister Shyam Rajak, who recently resigned from RJD and joined JDU again. He has been made the National General Secretary of JDU. However, he was also in the post of National General Secretary in RJD. Shyam Rajak left JDU before the 2020 elections and joined RJD.
Last month on August 22, once again Shyam Rajak surprised everyone by resigning from the post of National General Secretary of RJD. However, there were speculations about his leaving the party. While resigning, he wrote to RJD supremo Lalu Yadav - I was not fond of chess, so I got deceived, you were moving the pawns, I was maintaining the relationship.
Let us tell you that this is not the first time that Shyam Rajak has moved from here to there. He has changed sides twice. He first became an MLA from Phulwari Sharif's seat in 1995. At that time, he was considered close to Lalu Yadav. Shyam Rajak was also a minister in the Rabri Devi government.
He started getting disillusioned with RJD after Nitish Kumar became the Chief Minister in 2005. Then in 2009, a year before the 2010 elections, he resigned from RJD and joined Nitish Kumar. Since then, he remained in JDU till before the 2020 assembly elections. During this time, Nitish Kumar also gave him a place in his cabinet.
Just before the 2020 assembly elections in Bihar, Shyam Rajak resigned from JDU and joined RJD. Now once again he has left Lalu Yadav.
