Salute National Flag 21 Times and Chant "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" Twice a Month: MP High Court Grants Bail to Man Who Raised Pakistan Zindabad Slogans
The court has taught a lesson to the person who said 'Pakistan Zindabad'. The Madhya Pradesh High Court has granted bail to the person accused of raising slogans in support of Pakistan on the condition that he salutes the national flag 21 times in the police station twice a month and raises the slogan of Bharat Mata Ki Jai.
Justice DK Paliwal said in the order on Tuesday that the accused can be released on bail by imposing some conditions so that he develops a sense of responsibility and pride towards the country where he was born and lives. The court said, 'He is openly raising slogans against the country in which he was born and brought up.'
The court directed the accused to salute the national flag and raise the slogan of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" on every first and fourth Tuesday of the month. The accused, Faizal alias Faizan, was arrested in May after an FIR was lodged at Bhopal's Misrod police station under Section 153B (imputations, statements prejudicial to national integration) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The High Court order said, 'It is directed that the accused Faizal alias Faizan be released on bail on furnishing a personal bond of Rs 50,000 and a surety of the same amount in the trial court so that he can appear regularly before the trial court during the trial.'
The High Court said, 'It is also directed that he will mark his presence before the police station Misrod, Bhopal on the first and fourth Tuesday of every month till the conclusion of the trial and salute the national flag hoisted on the police station building by saying "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" 21 times.'
According to the prosecution, the accused had raised slogans in support of Pakistan, which is tantamount to promoting enmity between different groups and his act is dangerous to harmony and national unity. The defense lawyer argued that his client had been framed on false charges.
At the same time, the government lawyer argued that in a video the accused was seen praising Pakistan and raising slogans condemning India. The state government lawyer opposed the bail and said that the applicant is a habitual offender and 14 criminal cases are registered against him.
