Renovation of Key Roads Approved in Patna and Bhagalpur to Enhance Connectivity

Administrative approval has been given for the renovation work of 02 important roads for upgradation of road infrastructure in Patna and Bhagalpur districts. In Patna district, renovation work of Left out of NHAI (Ch-3.370 to 11.430 total 8.06 km) and Digha Service Lane (Ch-9.570 to 10.550 total 0.980 km) will be done, while in Bhagalpur district, renovation work of NH-131B (km 0.800 to 15.000 km) will be done.

2.Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister-cum-Road Construction Minister Shri Vijay Kumar Sinha informed that the Road Construction Department is continuously identifying the roads in various districts which need renovation and is doing the work of their renovation. In this direction, administrative approval has been given for the renovation of two roads in Patna and Bhagalpur districts as well.

3. Administrative approval of ₹ 933.53 lakh has been given for the renovation work of Left out of NHAI (Ch-3.370 to 11.430, total 8.06 km) and Digha Service Lane (Ch-9.570 to 10.550, total 0.980 km) under Path Division, Patna West. After this work, travelling on Khagaul-Digha canal path will become more convenient for the general public.

4. It is known that this path (Khagaul-Digha Canal) is the main path from South Bihar to North Bihar via J.P. Setu. At present, the said canal path has become a busiest path. On which many apartments, hospitals, multi-storey buildings etc. are built. People of North Bihar travel to prestigious AIIMS, Arwal, Aurangabad etc. through this path. This road connects three main roads of Patna, NH-139, NH-98 (AIIMS Golambar), Nehru road and Bankipur-Danapur road.

5. Similarly, administrative approval of ₹910.59 lakh has been given for IRQP (Improvement of Riding Quality Programme) work in NH-131B (km 0.800 to km 15.000) under National Highway Division, Bhagalpur. The total length of this road is 14.20 km and provision of 40mm BC (bituminous concrete) has also been made in it.

6. The said road connects two national highways NH-80 & NH-31. The renovation work of this road will make traffic through Vikramshila Setu more safe and easy.
