Punjab Invites Industrialists to Harness Green Energy Potential - Aman Arora

Chandigarh: Punjab's New and Renewable Energy Sources Minister, Aman Arora, invited industrialists to tap into the state's vast green energy potential, emphasizing the need for a shift towards clean and sustainable energy.

Speaking at the Regional Energy Transition & Sustainability (RETS) Conclave as Chief Guest, Arora highlighted Punjab's emergence as a leading state in green energy production. He assured startups that the state government, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, would provide comprehensive support to foster their growth in the sector.

The conclave, organized by PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry, saw Arora outline the state's solar energy initiatives, including a 4MW Solar PV plant in Bathinda's Tarkhanawala village, which will produce 6.65 million units of power annually. Three additional 4MW solar power plants are planned in Bathinda district, totaling 12MW.

PEDA has also invited applications from farmers for 20,000 agricultural pumps statewide. To address stubble burning, PEDA is promoting compressed biogas, biomass power, and bio-ethanol projects. A draft Green Hydrogen Policy has been formulated to boost green energy.

PEDA CEO Sandeep Hans assured support to startups introducing innovative green energy concepts. The government aims to achieve self-sufficiency in solar energy and generate employment opportunities for youth.

PHDCCI's Punjab State Chapter Chair, R.S. Sachdeva, emphasized the event's goal of raising awareness about solar energy demand and advancements.
