Political Turmoil in Jharkhand: Speculations Rise as Former CM Champai Soren Eyes BJP Ahead of Assembly Elections
Ahead of the Assembly elections, the political stir in Jharkhand has intensified. News revealed that former CM Champai Soren will rebel against Hemant Soren and the party. News came that Champai Soren has reached Delhi to meet the BJP's top leadership and just before the assembly elections in Jharkhand, there is a lot of speculation about former CM and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader Champai Soren joining the BJP. Amidst these discussions, when he was asked about this on Friday, he answered.
Champai Soren smiled at the question of the journalists and said, "You people are asking such a question, but what should I say on this, I am in front of you." After saying this, he sat in the car.
After Hemant Soren returned from jail, Champai Soren had to resign from the post of CM. Since then, there has been talk of his being angry.
In Jharkhand, Champai Soren resigned from the post of Chief Minister in July last month. After this, former CM Hemant Soren staked a claim to form the government and he once again became the CM of Jharkhand. Champai Soren was the Chief Minister of Jharkhand from 2 February 2024 to 3 July 2024 and remained the seventh CM of the state. Champai Soren is counted among the senior leaders of JMM.
He is a seven-time MLA. He has been continuously representing the Saraikela assembly constituency since 2005. He became MLA from Saraikela seat for the first time in 1991. Hemant Soren also made Champai Soren a cabinet minister in 2019. He was responsible for Transport, Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare.
