PM Modi Highlights Emerging Creative Fields in 114th Mann Ki Baat, Calls for Participation in ‘Create in India’ Challenges
During his 114th Mann Ki Baat address, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi emphasized the rapidly changing nature of employment and the growing opportunities in creative fields like gaming, filmmaking, etc. The Prime Minister emphasized the immense potential of India’s creative talent. The Prime Minister called upon creators to participate in 25 challenges under the theme ‘Create in India’ being organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Emerging creative sectors will reshape the job market
In his address, the Prime Minister highlighted the emerging sectors that are reshaping the job market. He said, “In these changing times, the nature of employment is changing, and new sectors like gaming, animation, reel making, film making or poster making are emerging. If you can do well in any of these skills… then your talent can get a huge platform.” He also discussed the growing scope for bands, community radio enthusiasts and creative professionals.
To harness and nurture this potential, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has launched 25 challenges aimed at promoting talent and creativity in various fields including music, education and anti-piracy. The Prime Minister encouraged creators to log on to the website wavesindia.org to participate in these challenges. He said, “I especially urge the creators of the country to ensure participation and bring their creativity to the fore.”
Create in India Challenge – Season One
On August 22, 2024, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Railways and Electronics & Information Technology launched the Create in India Challenge – Season One in New Delhi. These challenges will serve as a precursor to the upcoming World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES), in line with the vision of “Design in India, Design for the World” expressed by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during his 78th Independence Day address.
