The Prime Minister addressed the program. During this, the Prime Minister discussed the work being done by the Central Government. He also praised the work being done by the NDA government in Bihar under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

While addressing the program, the Chief Minister said that it is a matter of great happiness that the Honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has come to Bhagalpur among us today. I welcome the Honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi. I heartily congratulate all the people present here. It is a matter of good fortune for us that the amount of Kisan Samman Nidhi is being sent to the accounts of farmers across the country from Bihar by the Honorable Prime Minister, more than 76 thousand farmers of Bihar are also included in this. This is a very important scheme of the Central Government in which farmers are getting direct benefit.

The Chief Minister said that we have emphasized on agriculture from the very beginning. For this, agricultural development programs were run by making an agricultural road map. Currently the fourth agricultural road map is implemented. Agricultural production has increased significantly by implementing the agricultural road map. Along with this, the production of milk, eggs, meat and fish has also increased a lot. Earlier we used to get fish from other states here. Now we have become self-sufficient in fish production. The country is developing under the leadership of the honourable Prime Minister and Bihar is also getting his support in its development. In the last budget, a large amount was announced to be given to Bihar as financial assistance for roads, industry, health, tourism and flood control. In this year's budget too, Makhana Board in Bihar, establishment of Green Field Airport, financial assistance for Western Kosi Canal, establishment of National Level Processing Institute and expansion of Patna IIT were announced. In the last budget too, assistance was given to Bihar even after the formation of the government. I heartily congratulate and thank the honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for all these things. The cooperation of the Centre in the progress of Bihar is commendable. The Chief Minister said that we came to power here on 24 November 2005. Since our government was formed, we are engaged in the development of Bihar and development is taking place rapidly in all areas. What was the situation when we came to power for the first time? No one used to come out of the house after evening, such was the situation. They used to create fights between Hindus and Muslims in the society. They used to take votes of Muslims but fights used to happen. The condition of education was bad. During their tenure, there was no proper arrangement for treatment. There were very few roads and the roads that were there were in bad condition. There was very little electricity. Where was electricity in rural areas? There was hardly 8 hours of electricity in the capital Patna. After coming to power, we did a lot of work. There is no atmosphere of fear anywhere in the state. There is an atmosphere of love, brotherhood and peace in the state. A lot of work has been done in all areas including education, health, roads, electricity, water. In the year 2005-06, the budget of the state was only 28 thousand crores rupees. Our government came on 24 November 2005. We worked continuously and now the budget of Bihar has become more than 3 lakh crores. We are getting support from the Prime Minister in every way. The Chief Minister said that recently we went to all the districts in Pragati Yatra. We saw the development works in all the districts and assessed the work that was left or was lacking. You know that more than 400 new schemes have been approved, on which about 30 thousand crore rupees will be spent. We have seen, wherever there is a lack, it will be fulfilled. We will work together and fulfill the dream of making Bihar a developed state. We will contribute in making the country developed. I thank all the officers and employees of the central and state government for organizing this program. The respected Prime Minister has come, so more work will be done for the development of this area. Work will be done for the development of the whole of Bihar. They are working for the development of the whole country. More work will progress under his leadership in the whole country. The way we are working together for Bihar under the leadership of the Prime Minister, we expect the same from you in the next elections that you will give full cooperation in the same way as you gave earlier.

Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar also participated along with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in the road show organized before the program.
