Patna Set for a Traffic-Free Future: CM Nitish Kumar Unveils Major Infrastructure Plan

The problem of traffic jam in the capital will end very soon…! Long lines of vehicles will not be seen on the roads. Not only will people's precious time be saved, but there will also be no wastage of fuel.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has prepared a master plan to free the entire division including Patna from traffic jams. Under his Pragati Yatra, the Chief Minister has announced several important schemes to provide relief from traffic jams in Patna, Buxar, Rohtas, Kaimur, Bhojpur and Nalanda. These include widening of roads, construction of new bridges-flyovers, alternative routes and underground electricity and drainage arrangements.
Step towards smooth traffic in Patna
The biggest reason for traffic jams in the capital Patna is narrow roads, disorganized electricity wires and waterlogging. In view of this, road widening will be done from Danapur-Nehru Path to Gola Road, which will provide relief from the traffic jams in Danapur and Bailey Road area. J.P. Ganga Path will be extended from Koilwar to Mokama. This will provide an alternative route for vehicles coming from the outskirts of the capital. Patna-Gaya road will be connected to Sadiqpur-Pabheda-Masaurhi road. This will provide a bypass to Gaya and Jehanabad and reduce the pressure on the main roads.
Apart from Patna, there is a plan to improve the traffic system in other districts of the division as well-
• Traffic improvement in Buxar: New roads will be developed along with the modernization of Ramrekha Ghat in Buxar. This will facilitate traffic to the religious tourist destination.
• New roads in Rohtas and Kaimur:
Water supply from Son river and widening of Kargahar-Barhari-Dharampura road will strengthen the connectivity of the region.
• Alternative route in Bhojpur:
A new road project will be brought from Koilwar to Ara, which will provide relief from the problem of jam.
• Tourism and connectivity in Nalanda:
Ropeway, eco-tourism center and new resort will be built in Rajgir, which will ease the movement of tourists.
New bridges and flyovers will provide relief
Construction of new bridges and flyovers in Patna and its surrounding areas will also reduce the problem of traffic jams. A missing link path connecting Punpun station to Patna Ring Road will be constructed, which will end the traffic jam around Punpun station. Bridges will be constructed on the Dhoba river in Bakhtiyarpur and the Morhar river in Punpun, which will ensure easy movement from rural areas to Patna and other cities.
Solution will be done for drainage and electricity wires
Underground drains will be built on both sides of Nehru Path in Patna and Rajiv Nagar and Anandpuri drains will be paved and roads will be developed over them, which will provide relief from traffic jams due to waterlogging during the rainy season. Apart from this, electricity wires will be laid underground in Patna city, which will get rid of the traffic jams caused by electric poles and hanging wires.
Greenfield airport will reduce traffic pressure on the city
The central government will be requested to build a new international greenfield airport in Patna. This will reduce the traffic pressure on Jayaprakash Narayan Airport and reduce the load of vehicles in the city.
Patna division will get new speed
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that the aim of all these schemes is to make Patna and Patna division jam-free, well-organized and modern. After the completion of these projects, the traffic situation will improve not only in the capital but also in the surrounding districts, which will provide relief to the people and accelerate the economic and social development of the region
