Patna Metro : Patna Metro Aims for Priority Corridor Launch by August 2025

To speed up the work of Patna Metro, a review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Mr. Abhay Kumar Singh, Managing Director-cum- Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Department, Patna Metro. Joint Secretary of Urban Development Department and Assistant Managing Director of Patna Metro, Mrs. Varsha Singh, General Manager and Chief Vigilance Officer Mrs. Vinita Srivastava, officials of Urban Development and Housing Department, Patna Metro, Delhi Metro and all the contractors were present in the meeting.

In the review meeting, the ongoing works related to Patna Metro were reviewed and all concerned were instructed to speed it up. Special emphasis was laid on increasing the speed of work in the Priority Corridor.

Mr. Abhay Singh informed that the work of six and a half kilometer long Priority Corridor from Malahi Pakadi to ISBT is going on very fast and Patna Metro is making full efforts to start it by 15 August 2025.

Patna Metro currently has two corridors - East-West Corridor and North South Corridor whose length is 16.94 km and 14.45 km respectively and the total number of proposed stations is 24.

There are five stations in the Priority Corridor - ISBT, Zeromile, Bhootnath, Khemnichak and Malahi Pakadi.

In the meeting, the Managing Director of Patna Metro also told that the early implementation of the Metro will help the people of Patna in dealing with air pollution along with providing smooth traffic facilities. Therefore, in public interest, the work of Patna Metro should be done in mission mode.
