Nitish Kumar Pledges Allegiance to BJP: 'Never Again' Will He Desert Old Ally"
Patha: National President of JDU, Nitish Kumar, on Friday assured his BJP counterpart, JP Nadda, that he would never desert the BJP. Speaking at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Patna, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said he had been associated with the BJP since 1995 as its alliance partner but had made the mistake of leaving its company twice. However, he assured that he would never desert his old partner again.
Nitish Kumar and Union Health Minister JP Nadda jointly inaugurated the regional Eye Centre, claimed to be the biggest in India. The Chief Minister announced that Rs 850 crores worth of health welfare projects had been launched on the same day. During his two-day stay in Bihar, Nadda would also inaugurate new hospitals in Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, and Patna.
At Bhagalpur, Nadda, who was born and brought up in Patna, inaugurated a multi-super specialty hospital. However, former Union Minister of State for Health, Ashwini Kumar Chaubey, who had laid the foundation stone of the hospital, was not invited. Chaubey wrote a letter to the Chief Minister, regretting the omission of his name from the list of invitees.
