Nitish Kumar Inaugurates and Lays Foundation for 6199 Rural Development Schemes Worth ₹8837.77 Crore in Bihar

Bihar Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today started and inaugurated 6199 schemes of Rural Works Department worth Rs 8837.77 crore through remote from 'Sankalp' located at 1, Ane Marg. Under this, 4390 schemes worth Rs 6509.93 crore were started and 1809 schemes worth Rs 2327.84 crore were inaugurated.

During the program, the Chief Minister said that it is a matter of great happiness that the Rural Works Department has inaugurated as well as laid the foundation stone of many roads and bridges, which will make traffic easier in rural areas. Congratulating the officials of the Rural Works Department for today's work commencement and inauguration program, he said that I hoped that the construction of all the roads and bridges of the schemes that have been started will be completed on time in a quality manner. He said that all the roads and bridges that are being inaugurated today should be inspected regularly and their continuous maintenance should be ensured so that their quality is maintained. The Chief Minister directed the officials of the Rural Works Department to constantly monitor all the other roads and bridges of the department and also ensure their regular maintenance.

It is worth noting that under the schemes inaugurated today, 763 roads (total length 947 km) and 4 bridges (total length 435 meters) have been constructed at Rs 983 crore under Mukhya Mantri Gram Sampark Yojana. Under the Chief Minister Rural Path Maintenance Program, 972 roads (total length 1,904 km) have been repaired at Rs 1,113 crore. Under the Chief Minister Rural Road Development Scheme, 33 roads (total length 104 km) have been upgraded (reconstructed/strengthened/widened) at Rs 92 crore. Under the State Scheme, 5 roads (total length 6 km) and 36 bridges (total length 1,614 meters) have been constructed at Rs 139 crore.

Under the commencement of work, 1,472 roads (total length 1,571 km) and 5 bridges (total length 304 meters) are to be constructed at Rs 1,824 crore under the Chief Minister Gram Sampark Scheme. Under the Chief Minister Rural Road Maintenance Program, 2.306 roads (total length 4,148 km) are to be repaired at Rs 2,350 crore. Under the Mukhyamantri Gramin Sadak Unnayan Yojana, the work of upgradation (reconstruction/strengthening/widening) of 442 roads (total length 1,701 km) and 01 bridge (total length 27 meters) is to be done at Rs 1,739 crore. Under the state scheme, 30 roads (total length 73 km) and 139 bridges (total length 5,993 meters) are to be constructed at Rs 597 crore.

In the program, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Rural Works Department, Mr. Deepak Kumar Singh welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting a green bouquet.

During the program, a short film based on the schemes and works of the Rural Works Department was presented.

Rural Works Minister Mr. Ashok Choudhary, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Mr. Amrit Lal Meena, Development Commissioner Mr. Pratyaya Amrit, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. S. Siddharth, Additional Chief Secretary of Rural Works Department Mr. Deepak Kumar Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Anupam Kumar, Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Kumar Ravi, Special Officer to the Chief Minister Mr. Gopal Singh, Chief Engineer cum Special Secretary of Rural Works Department Mr. Bhagwat Ram and other senior officers of Rural Works Department were present in the program.
