NDA Sweeps Bihar By-Elections: What About Political Strategist Prashant Kishore's Jan Suraaj Party?
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has won all the seats in the by-elections held on four seats of Bihar Assembly. In these results, the Tarari and Ramgarh seats were captured by BJP, while Jitan Ram Manjhi's party Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) won the Imamganj seat. At the same time, Belagnj seat went to JD(U)'s account.
Although the results of these by-elections will not have any major impact on the situation of the Bihar Assembly, all eyes were on renowned political strategist Prashant Kishore's Jan Suraaj Party (JSP), which contested for the first time. Before the Bihar Assembly elections to be held next year, this performance of JSP can indicate possible effects.
The first victory of NDA came from Imamganj, where Deepa Kumari of Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) defeated RJD's Roshan Kumar by about 6,000 votes. JSP's Jitendra Paswan came third on this seat, who got more than 37,000 votes. PK's party played an important role in this result.
The situation in Belagnj seat was also interesting. JDU's Manorama Devi won by about 21,000 votes. RJD's Vishwanath Kumar Singh came second in this seat. The special thing is that Belagnj has been considered a stronghold of RJD, but this time JSP weakened RJD's fight by getting more than 17,000 votes. Apart from this, Asaduddin Owaisi's party AIMIM also got more than 3,500 votes on this seat, which caused loss to RJD.
