Maruti Suzuki to Unveil First Electric SUV eVX in January 2025: What to Expect

Maruti Suzuki may launch its first electric car eVX globally in January 2025. The company will unveil the production-spec of the eVX SUV at the India Mobility Global Expo 2025 to be held in New Delhi from January 17 to 22. A senior executive of the company said that they will officially announce the BEV (Born Electric Vehicle) at the Auto Expo in India in January next year. It is expected to be launched in early 2025. It will compete with premium electric cars from Tata and Hyundai.

Talking about its design, it will be quite different from the concept model. It will get horizontal LED light bars covering the entire width at the rear. It gets a high-mounted stop lamp, shark fin antenna and a sloped terrace. Talking about its exterior, it gets a raked front windshield, square-off wheels and muscular side cladding hidden inside the warp.

It will get 17-inch alloy wheels. Its length can be around 4,300 mm, width 1,800 mm and height 1,600 mm. Both single and dual-electric motor setups will be available in the eVX. It can be reserved for international markets like Europe and Japan. The eVX can be equipped with a 60 kWh Li-ion battery pack, which can give a driving range of about 500 km.

It will be built on the 27L architecture derived from Toyota's 40PL. The photos spotted during testing also show a two-spoke steering wheel and dual-screen layout. It will compete with other electric models like the upcoming Mahindra XUV700 based electric SUV, Hyundai Creta based EV, Tata Curve EV, Honda Elevate EV, Kia Seltos EV. The zero-emission vehicle is planned to be launched in 2025 and 2026.
