Lord Ram: A Symbol of Unity and Progress, Declares PM Modi at Ayodhya Temple Consecration

Ayodhya: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a landmark address marking the consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, declared Lord Ram not as a source of division, but as a powerful symbol of unity and progress for India.

"Ram is not fire, Ram is energy. Ram is not a dispute, Ram is a solution," he said, addressing potential criticisms and emphasizing the unifying nature of the temple. "Ram is not just ours, Ram belongs to everyone. Ram is not only present, Ram is eternal."

PM Modi further dismissed claims that the temple construction would ignite tensions, highlighting instead its significance as a testament to India's patience, harmony, and collaborative spirit. "There was a time when some said the Ram temple would cause unrest," he acknowledged, "but they could not understand the strength of our nation's social fabric."

He expressed gratitude to the judiciary for their role in resolving the decades-long legal dispute surrounding the site, acknowledging the sensitivity of the issue. "The legal battle over Lord Ram's existence went on for decades," he said. "I would like to express my gratitude to the judiciary of India for upholding justice."

In a poignant moment of reflection, PM Modi apologized for the historical delays in constructing the temple, viewing it as a collective duty fulfilled. "Today, I apologize to Lord Shri Ram," he said. "There must have been something lacking in our efforts that this work could not be done for so many centuries. Today, that deficiency has been filled."

Looking forward, PM Modi laid out a transformative vision for India's future, one inspired by the principles of the revered deity. "From this moment, we take a pledge to build an India that is not just self-reliant, but resonates with grandeur and divinity," he declared.

The ceremony also witnessed the unveiling of the Ram idol after traditional rituals, with PM Modi leading the procession into the temple premises and performing religious rites at the Kuber Tila shrine within the complex. He later paid respects to the workers involved in the temple's construction, showering them with flower petals as a symbol of appreciation.

The Ram temple consecration marks a significant chapter in India's history, and PM Modi's address underscores the message of unity, progress, and devotion that the temple symbolizes for the nation.
