Law Student Arrested From CSMT-Chennai Express for Allegedly Molesting Minor
A case of molestation of a minor has come to light on a train going from Mumbai to Chennai. The case is being reported inside the CSMT-Chennai Express train. The accused had touched the minor inappropriately while the train was leaving from Mumbai. Later, the minor saw the accused again inside the train, after which she told the whole thing to her grandmother. When both of them made noise, the ticket checker and the people around caught the accused. At present, the accused has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
A police officer said that a 22-year-old student has been arrested for molesting a minor girl on the long-distance CSMT-Chennai Express train. The accused was a law student. A case has been registered against the accused under the POCSO Act by the Government Railway Police (GRP). According to the police, the incident took place on Sunday, when the CSMT-Chennai Express train was about to leave Mumbai. During this time, the accused S Raghavendra touched the girl inappropriately near the door. The incident came to light when the girl complained about it to her grandmother.
The minor saw the accused again and alerted her grandmother, following which she raised an alarm. Hearing the alarm, the ticket checker and co-passengers caught him. "The accused S Raghavendra touched the girl's back. She slapped him, but he still kept his hand on her waist. The girl raised an alarm, following which the ticket checker and co-passengers caught him. She complained while traveling in the train between Karjat and Pune," police officials said. A case has been registered and the accused S Raghavendra has been sent to 14-day judicial custody, said a Karjat police station official.
