Landslide Strikes Mata Vaishno Devi Pilgrimage Route, Injuring Devotee

A devotee was injured in a landslide on the Mata Vaishno Devi route on Monday, September 2. A video of this incident has also surfaced. In this, it can be seen that within a few minutes the mountain collapsed. The devotee injured in the landslide has been admitted to the hospital. At present, his condition is said to be stable. The administration has appealed to the devotees to take special caution while proceeding on the foot route. It is being told that about three people have died in the accident.

After the landslide, the Mata Vaishno Devi foot route has been disrupted. The administration has reached the spot and started the work of restoring the road. At present, taking precautions, movement on this route has been stopped. Poklane machines have been called on the spot to remove the debris from the road. Many senior officers including the DM are present on the spot and are monitoring the work related to restoring the road.

The accident took place near Panchi in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. This area is about 3 kilometers before Vaishno Devi Bhawan. In this landslide, an iron structure installed above the road was also damaged. According to media reports, many devotees are feared to be trapped in the debris.

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has confirmed the landslide on the walking path. The CEO of the Shrine Board gave this information by posting on X. The Shrine Board said that there has been an incident of landslide and stone falling from the mountain on the Mata Vaishno Devi walking path. The management team of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has reached the spot.
