Lakhisarai Hosts Pravasi Samman Diwas, Fostering Connections with Diaspora

In a celebration of Indian diaspora's contributions, Lakhisarai district administration organized the Pravasi Samman Diwas ceremony at the district collectorate's conference hall on January 9, 2025. The event commenced with District Magistrate Mithilesh Mishra and guest dignitaries lighting the ceremonial lamp, followed by a rendition of the mangalacharan mantra.

The ceremony showcased Lakhisarai's cultural heritage through a PowerPoint presentation, highlighting landmarks such as the railway station, Kuel Bridge, and the Lakhisarai Museum. A short video also presented the history of Lakhisarai village.

Ten diaspora members from Lakhisarai joined the event online, sharing their thoughts and experiences. Raj Hiramani from Mauritius spoke about Mahatma Gandhi's visit to the island nation, emphasizing Gandhi's message to educate children and encourage them to participate in politics.


Other notable speakers included Dr. Gopal Kumar from ISRO Dehradun, who stressed the importance of sports in maintaining physical health, and Dr. Ramkumar from Delhi, who emphasized the value of perseverance in life.

The event also saw the physical presence of four diaspora members: Abhinav Kumar from Germany, Rajesh Ranjan from the USA, Ritesh Kumar, and Raviraj Patel.

Prominent attendees included Police Superintendent Ajay Kumar, Additional District Magistrate Sudhanshu Shekhar, Deputy Development Commissioner Sumit Kumar, and District Education Officer Yaduvansh Ram.

The first day of the Pravasi Samman Diwas ceremony concluded with Deputy Development Commissioner Sumit Kumar. This event served as a testament to the district administration's efforts to strengthen ties with the Indian diaspora.
