KAP Sinha assumes charge as 43rd Chief Secretary of Punjab

The IAS officer of 1992 Batch (Punjab Cadre) KAP Sinha on Thursday assumed charge as the 43rd Chief Secretary of Punjab at the Punjab Civil Secretariat in the presence of several senior officers. The incumbent would also hold the additional charge of Principal Secretary Vigilance, General Administration and Vigilance.

In his address on the occasion, Mr Sinha said that he has received immense love from the Punjab State and its people while serving on various posts in a multitude of departments and now at this moment of assuming charge of the new post, he assures that it is time to pay back the respect he has received for which he would work tirelessly.

The citizen-centric services would continue to be provided to the people in a transparent & hassle-free manner thus giving priority to the overall development of the State as is the main aim of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, said Mr. Sinha adding that the schemes of the welfare of people would be implemented with even more vigour.

Among the officers present today included Vikas Pratap, Alok Shekhar, DK Tiwari, Tejveer Singh, Jaspreet Talwar, Dilip Kumar, Bhawna Garg, Ajoy Sharma, Gurkirat Kirpal Singh, VN Zade, Gurpreet Kaur Sapra, Malwinder Singh Jaggi, Abhinav Trikha, Ramvir, Sonali Giri, Keshav Hingonia, Surbhi Malik, Harpreet Singh Sudan, Jaspreet Singh, Rahul, Baldeep Kaur and Neeru Katial Gupta.

On the occasion, the President of the IAS Officers Association Tejveer Singh and all the other officers present shared their experiences of working with Mr. Sinha while working in various departments and field postings and assured that they would continue to work as a team for the prosperity and development of Punjab.

It is worthwhile to mention that Mr. KAP Sinha was at present serving as the Special Chief Secretary cum Financial Commissioner Revenue. Earlier, he has served in various prestigious departments such as Finance, Taxation, Food and Civil Supplies, Higher Education, Environment and Science & Technology, Parliamentary Affairs and the General Administration. Besides, he has also rendered exceptional services in the Union Ministry of External Affairs, Industries & Commerce, and Atomic Energy departments during his stint in the Union Government. He has also participated in various National and International conferences and has also served as the Deputy Commissioner of Bathinda and Gurdaspur during field postings.

He has done his Master in Economics, LLM and B. Tech (Mining Engineering)
