Jharkhand Assembly: CM Hemant Soren Pledges Ex-Gratia to Martyred Agniveers and Jobs for Their Families

On the last day of the monsoon session of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Hemant Soren gave his speech amid the sloganeering of the opposition. The CM spoke on giving ex-gratia to the martyred Agniveers and jobs to the family members. The opposition started sloganeering amidst the CM's speech.

The opposition parties continued to sit on dharna in and outside the House for two consecutive days. Amidst this tension, the Speaker of the Assembly suspended 18 opposition leaders till 2 pm on Friday. When the MLAs reached the House after two o'clock, they started a ruckus accusing the government of not responding. Chief Minister Hemant Soren gave his reply amid this uproar and accused the opposition of making baseless allegations. He said that the opposition is working without any concrete agenda and is behaving like a political agent. Family members of martyred Agniveers will get jobs.

CM Hemant Soren, while responding to the opposition, said that the previous government had given Rs 600 crore to JSLPS, while his government has given Rs 10,000 crore under this scheme for women. He also talked about increasing the honorarium of teachers by 50%. Apart from this, he also talked about waiving the loan of farmers up to Rs 5,000 and giving ex-gratia to Agniveers as well as giving compensation and jobs to the family

The CM also talked about the issue of unemployment allowance and said that the opposition should pay attention to whether unemployment allowance is being given in villages and blocks or not. He told that his government has given one and a half lakh jobs and efforts are on to increase this number. He said that if he was not in jail, five lakh jobs would have been given to the youth.
