Indian Fishermen Freed After a High-Speed Sea Chase; Investigations Underway into the Incident Near the India-Pakistan Border
The Indian Coast Guard ship rescued seven Indian fishermen on 17 November. The Pakistani Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) ship PMS Nusrat was forcibly arresting these fishermen and taking them to its border. That is, it was arresting these fishermen from near the India-Pakistan border.
At 3:30 pm on 17 November 2024, the Indian Coast Guard ship ICG Agrim received an emergency call. It was a distress call, that is, a call for help. This call came from the Indian fishing boat Kalbhairav. Which was fishing near the No-Fishing Zone (NFZ). It was intercepted by the Pakistani ship. It was stopped. The plan was to capture all the seven fishermen on it and take them to Pakistan.
But ICG Agrim went at full speed and stopped the Pakistani ship Nusrat. For two hours, the race went on in the sea. After this, the Pakistani ship was asked to release the Indian fishermen. Finally, the threats and persuasion worked. The Pakistani ship released the fishermen and the boat. But the Kalbhairav boat was damaged. Due to this, it sank into the sea.
After this, the ICG advance ship returned to Gujarat's Okha port on November 18 with the fishermen. Now intelligence agencies, state police and coastguard are jointly interrogating those fishermen. Along with this, a report is also being prepared as to why this clash took place in the sea.
