Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan made this statement at a function on Monday. However, Chirag also said that as long as Narendra Modi is my Prime Minister, we will remain in the NDA. When asked about the statement 'I will not hesitate to quit the ministerial post like my father', Chirag Paswan said that he was talking about the Congress-led UPA.

Chirag Paswan clarified his statement saying, "My father was also a minister in the UPA government. And at that time many things happened which were not in the interests of Dalits. Even Baba Saheb Ambedkar's pictures were not put up in public events. So, we parted ways."
