Gunfire Erupts Outside AP Dhillon's Vancouver Home, Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Claims Responsibility

A wave of shock has spread across the Punjabi music community and fans worldwide after an incident of heavy gunfire outside the Vancouver residence of popular Punjabi singer AP Dhillon on September 1, 2024. Fortunately, no one was injured in the attack, which has since been claimed by the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

The attack came to light after a viral post on Facebook by Rohit Godara, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who took responsibility for the shooting. In his message, Godara boasted about the attack, mentioning two incidents of gunfire in Canada that night, one at AP Dhillon's home on Victoria Island and another in Woodbridge, Toronto. He further taunted the singer, referencing Dhillon's collaboration with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan in the recent hit song "Old Money."

"Ram-Ram ji to all the brothers. On the night of September 1, we fired at two places in Canada, one of which is Victoria Island and Woodbridge Toronto. I Rohit Godara (Lawrence Bishnoi Group) take responsibility for this. The house on Victoria Island belongs to AP Dhillon. This is giving a great feeling," the post read, adding, "The underworld life that you people copy, we are actually living that life. Stay within your limits or else you will die like a dog."

This incident has raised alarms, especially given the Lawrence Bishnoi gang's previous threats and attacks on other celebrities, including Punjabi singer Gippy Grewal and Bollywood actor Salman Khan. Earlier this year, the gang had fired outside Salman's Galaxy Apartment in Mumbai, leading to increased security for the actor.

Canadian authorities have launched an investigation into the shooting, but have yet to issue an official statement. The escalating violence linked to the Bishnoi gang has heightened concerns for the safety of public figures associated with the Indian entertainment industry, both in India and abroad.

The latest attack comes shortly after the release of "Old Money," AP Dhillon's collaboration with Salman Khan, which has quickly gained popularity, amassing over 10 million views on YouTube in just three weeks. The success of the song has been overshadowed by this disturbing incident, raising fears for the safety of those involved.

Security around AP Dhillon's residence has reportedly been tightened as investigators work to piece together the details of the attack. The incident has also sparked renewed discussions about the reach and influence of criminal gangs across international borders, as well as the challenges in ensuring the safety of high-profile individuals targeted by such groups.
