Former Haryana Congress Leader Kiran Chaudhary Resigns as MLA After Joining BJP with Daughter Shruti

Former Haryana Congress leader Kiran Chaudhary has resigned from the post of MLA. Kiran Chaudhary and her daughter Shruti Chaudhary recently joined the BJP along with their supporters in the presence of senior party leaders at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi. Kiran Chaudhary was the daughter-in-law of former Haryana Chief Minister Bansi Lal and an MLA from Tosham in Bhiwani district. Her daughter Shruti Chaudhary was also the working president of the Haryana unit of the Congress.

Both Kiran Chaudhary and Shruti Chaudhary resigned from the primary membership of the Congress on Tuesday. They had indirectly alleged that the party's state unit in Haryana was being run as a "personal fiefdom". It is believed that they had targeted former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

On joining BJP, former Congress leader Shruti Chaudhary had said, "It is a matter of great pride that Manohar Lal Khattar and PM Modi Narendra Modi have worked with Chaudhary Bansi Lal. We are joining BJP so that we can strengthen the country and the state. I thank Manohar Lal Khattar, Nayab Singh Saini, Tarun Chugh for this opportunity."

On this occasion, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini had said, "I welcome and thank Kiran Chaudhary and Shruti Chaudhary and assure that together with Kiran Chaudhary and Shruti Chaudhary, BJP will work to strengthen Haryana like a family. The experience of you and your family will make BJP stronger.”
