Fisheries Director Orders Immediate Completion of All Central and State Schemes in April

The Directorate of Fisheries has issued an order to complete the central and state schemes in the month of April at any cost. Also, after examining the applications received on the MIS portal, the Fisheries Extension Officer and Fisheries Development Officer have been directed to send it to the District Fisheries Officer for further action.
A review meeting was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Abhishek Ranjan, Director of Fisheries Directorate under the Animal and Fisheries Resources Department. In this meeting, the director also reviewed the state and central sponsored schemes along with Muzaffarpur, Shivhar, Katihar and Arwal districts. In the review meeting, Fisheries Director Abhishek Ranjan informed that under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, new ponds have been constructed in a total of 20.01 hectares of land in Muzaffarpur district. Similarly, the work of construction of ponds has been completed on 18.14 hectares in Shivhar district, 6.79 hectares in Katihar, 7.13 hectares in Arwal.
Under this scheme, the repair work of 6.33 hectares of ponds in Muzaffarpur, 12.62 hectares in Shivhar, 11.88 hectares in Katihar, 0.35 hectares in Arwal has been completed. At the same time, under the Special Assistance Scheme under the State Plan, ponds have been built in 21.00 acres in Muzaffarpur, 5.43 acres in Shivhar, 24.00 acres in Katihar and 7.99 acres in Arwal. Under the Chief Minister Chaur Vikas Yojana, the work of pond construction in 75.93 hectares in Muzaffarpur and 51.54 hectares in Katihar has been completed in Saat Nishchay-02. In this review meeting, the achievements achieved so far by the above districts in the financial years 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25 were also discussed. Fisheries Development Officer and Fisheries Extension Officer, Project Coordinator and other officers of Muzaffarpur, Shivhar, Katihar and Arwal districts were present in the meeting.
