Entrepreneurship Promotion Workshop Held at Rajasthan Technical University
In alignment with the National Education Policy's vision of self-reliance and the goals of higher education, Prof. S.K. Singh, Vice Chancellor, said:
"A highly successful one-day workshop was organized by Rajasthan Technical University, Kota, under the joint collaboration of the Training and Placement Department, Innovation-Incubation Cell, and the Self-Reliant India Campaign."
According to Assistant Public Relations Officer Vikram Rathore, the primary objective of the event was to motivate students to embrace self-reliance, centered around the theme "Be Job Providers, Not Job Seekers." This theme encouraged students to shift from mere job aspirations to becoming entrepreneurs who generate employment opportunities.
In his keynote address, Vice Chancellor Prof. S.K. Singh underscored the pressing need for students to develop entrepreneurial skills, self-sufficiency, and proficiency in various areas in today's competitive world. He highlighted how the university's Innovation and Incubation Cell offers expert guidance for students aiming to establish their own startups.
Prof. Singh lauded the New National Education Policy (NEP), calling it a pivotal framework to foster self-reliance and meet the evolving targets of higher education. He emphasized the critical role of a knowledge-driven economy, citing several examples of successful startups to demonstrate how knowledge and innovation can play a central role in creating new employment avenues.
Dr. Jyoti Verma, Principal of Rupadevi Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Bhilwara, served as the keynote speaker. She imparted key insights into how students can develop self-reliance, urging them to explore income-generating activities during their studies to foster an entrepreneurial mindset. Dr. Verma stressed that nurturing values such as patriotism and self-discipline will enhance personal growth and illuminate career pathways.
Insights from Prominent Entrepreneurs and Startup Founders
A host of esteemed entrepreneurs and startup founders from Kota, including Prem Bhatia, NK Gupta (founder of eSaaral), Dr. Vivek Saxena (founder of Madhuban Dental Hospital), Harish Agarwal (founder of Morpa Farm), Amanpreet Singh (founder of Gau Organics), Pankaj Sharma (founder of Bit-to-Bite), Prashast Jain (founder of Profit Startup), mentor Mr. Kaustubh Bhattacharya from I-Start Kota, Ashutosh from RKET Kota, and Chandraesh Sharma from ATVC Startup, shared their experiences. They provided students with practical insights into how skill development and innovation can lead to self-reliance.
Additionally, the workshop featured contributions from prominent individuals, RTU Kota’s Training and Placement Department Chairman, Dr. Manish Chaturvedi and Shanti Lal Meena, along with Mr. Hanuman Prasad Gupta from the Self-Reliant India Campaign, and Rajendra Hada from the Swadeshi Jagran Manch, Kota.
