Dr. Hedgewar dedicated his entire life to the nation: Shri Dattatreya Hosabale
New Delhi: Shri Dattatreya Hosabale, the Honourable Sarkaryavah of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), said that Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, who laid the foundation of the Sangh, was a person with a holistic national vision. He had an innate sense of patriotism and dedicated his entire life to the nation. The present generation draws inspiration from his patriotism and national thoughts.
Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale was speaking on the occasion of the release of the biography of Sangh founder, first Sarsanghchalak Dr. Hedgewar, titled "Man of the Millennia: Dr Hedgewar". The Honourable Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Justice (Retd.) S Abdul Nazeer was the chief guest at the event. The book, originally written in Marathi by Nana Palkar and translated into English by the late Dr. Anil Naine, has been published by Suruchi Prakashan.
Sarkaryavah Ji said that the ideology with which Dr. Saheb founded the Sangh is being studied by many institutions in the world today. He said that to understand the Sangh, one should not see it from a distance but from close quarters. If you understand, stay, otherwise leave. To understand the Sangh, one needs not only the mind but also the heart, because its workers work with the spirit of "Nation First".
Honourable Dattatreya Hosabale Ji said that this book will prove to be very important to understand Dr. Saheb's entire life and his work style. He said that Dr. Saheb developed the tradition of "We" not "I" in the Sangh and built a team whose first priority and work style included social upliftment, national pride and character building. After founding the Sangh, Dr. Saheb said that if you find any fault in me, you can choose another person in my place. I will work with him also with the same national spirit. Hosabale Ji said that Dr. Hedgewar Ji was a person with a calm, patient, dedicated, sensitive and understanding of the psychology of society.
Chief guest, Justice (Retd.) S Abdul Nazeer, Governor of Andhra Pradesh, said that the organization founded by Dr. Hedgewar is inspiring the whole world with its work today.
The book "Man of the Millennia: Dr Hedgewar" is a biography of Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, the founder of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The book was originally written in Marathi by Nana Palkar and translated into English by the late Dr. Anil Naine. The book was released on March 1, 2024 at Indraprastha Vishwa Samvad Kendra in New Delhi. The Honourable Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Justice (Retd.) S Abdul Nazeer was the chief guest at the event. He said that the Sangh is a service organization that works for the social, cultural and national upliftment of India. Justice (Retd.) S Abdul Nazeer said that the RSS is a great organization that has made a significant contribution to the nation.
Biography of Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar:
Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar was born on April 1, 1889 in Nagpur, Maharashtra. He was the eldest son of Baliram Hedgewar and Laxmibai Hedgewar. His father was a Sanskrit scholar and his mother was a homemaker.
Dr. Hedgewar received his primary education in Nagpur. He then went to Kolkata to study medicine. In 1916, he obtained his MBBS degree from the National Medical College, Kolkata. After completing his medical studies, Dr. Hedgewar returned to Nagpur and started practicing medicine. He was a very successful doctor and was known for his kind and compassionate nature.
In 1925, Dr. Hedgewar founded the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The RSS is a Hindu nationalist volunteer organization with a stated goal of building a strong and united India. Dr. Hedgewar was a strong advocate of Hindu unity and believed that the RSS could play a vital role in achieving this goal. He served as the first Sarsanghchalak (Supreme Leader) of the RSS from 1925 to 1940.Under his leadership, the RSS grew from a small organization to a major force in Indian politics.
Dr. Hedgewar died on June 21, 1940 at the age of 51. He is considered to be one of the most important figures in the history of the RSS.
