Deputy CM Reviews Market Committee Construction Progress Across Bihar Districts

Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister -cum- Agriculture Minister Shri Vijay Kumar Sinha reviewed the progress of construction work of district wise market committee premises.
Senior officials including Secretary Agriculture Shri Sanjay Kumar Agarwal participated in this review meeting. The representative of Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation informed that the work in Chandauti (Gaya) and Vaishali has been completed. The work of market committee of East and West Champaran will be completed by 15 May.
The Hon'ble Minister said that the Hon'ble Prime Minister has announced the system of 'One Nation, One Market', which will benefit Bihar the most. The farmers of Bihar will be able to get maximum price for their crop products. In this way, the expected increase in the income of the farmers will be possible and the farmers will prosper.
He said that Hon'ble Chief Minister, Bihar Shri Nitish Kumar Ji announced in the state function organized at Gandhi Maidan on the occasion of 75th Independence Day celebrations (15th August, 2021) that in order to provide market facilities for agricultural produce to the farmers of the state, all Krishi Utpadan Bazar Samitis should be renovated and developed in a phased manner.
The Hon'ble Minister said that separate market arrangements for grains, fruits, vegetables and fish, storage facilities etc. are being done in the market committee premises. In order to ensure fair price and better market arrangements to the farmers of the state for their crop products, fish etc., for strengthening all the market committee premises of the state, along with construction of boundary wall, road, drain etc. in the premises, along with arrangements for cleanliness, security, electricity, water, separate toilets for men and women etc., funds have been arranged in the detailed project report for warehouse and cold storage.
He directed that wherever work is being completed by Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation, teams should be formed to check the progress and quality of the work. Also, transparency should be maintained in the process of allotment of shops in market committee premises.
