Delhi Government Begins Trial of Mohalla Bus Service to Boost Last-Mile Connectivity

Delhi's Arvind Kejriwal government has started the trial of Mohalla bus service to improve the last-mile connectivity plan in the capital. Under this, its trial has been started on two new routes on Wednesday. Delhi Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj and MLA Somnath Bharti flagged it off.

The first route is from Kailash Colony Metro Station to PNB Geetanjali Colony. The trial of the Mohalla bus has started on this new route.

The second route is from Lok Kalyan Marg Metro Station to Vasant Vihar Metro Station. These routes will cover 6-7 South Campus colleges like JMC, Maitreyi Venkateshwar, ARSD, RLA and Motilal Nehru.

On this occasion, Saurabh Bhardwaj said that the people of Greater Kailash and Malviya Nagar had demanded that Mohalla bus services be started here. Today Mohalla bus has started here. He said that this bus service will be very good. Many markets, hospitals and malls come in this route. People were eagerly waiting for it. For this, I thank Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot ji.

Before this, the trial of Mohalla Bus had started. The Transport Minister started its trial on two routes. These routes were - Pradhan Enclave Pushta to Majlis Park Metro Station and Akshardham Metro Station to Mayur Vihar Phase-III Paper Market. A trial of 7 days was conducted on these routes, after which it was regularized.

The Mohalla Bus is prepared with 6 battery packs with a total capacity of 196 kW. It provides a range of 200+ kilometers with 45 minutes of charging. These 9-meter Mohalla buses have 23 seats and can accommodate 13 passengers standing. 25 percent of the seats (6 seats) in the Mohalla buses are pink in colour, which will be reserved for women.
