Delhi Expands Free Coaching Scheme for Aspiring Doctors and Engineers

The Arvind Kejriwal government has decided to increase 100 seats for girl students under the Mukhyamantri Pratibha Vidyarthi Coaching Yojana (Chief Minister's Super Talented Students Coaching Scheme). Education Minister Atishi announced this while interacting with the students getting free coaching for NEET and JEE in renowned institutes under the Chief Minister's Super Talented Students Coaching Scheme.

Interacting with the students, she learned about their experiences of coaching and encouraged them to fulfil their dream of becoming doctor or engineer.

Every year 300 children of class 9 and class 11 studying in government schools of Delhi are selected for free coaching of JEE and NEET in top coaching institutes.

Speaking on the occasion, Education Minister Atishi said that children studying in government schools should work hard to fulfill their dreams; the government will never let expensive coaching fee come in the way of their dreams. “Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's vision is that children of every family, whether rich or poor, should move forward and fulfill their dreams. So, we started this scheme,” she said.

To provide more opportunities to girls to make progress, the Education Minister announced that from the next session, 100 additional seats will be provided for girl students under the Chief Minister's Super Talented Students Coaching Scheme.

She said that the students enrolled under this scheme are role models for lakhs of children studying in Delhi government schools. “We have fulfilled our responsibility, now it is the turn of the students. They should fulfill their dreams and show the world that children studying in government schools are no less than anyone,” said Atishi.

Thanking Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for providing this facility, the students said now there is no tension of expensive coaching fees for medical and engineering entrance exams preparation, and we are able to focus fully on our studies. They said that the coaching fees worth lakhs of rupees was a hindrance in our dream of becoming doctors and engineers, but the Chief Minister's Super Talented Students Coaching Scheme has removed this obstacle.

Addressing the students, the Education Minister said that talent does not see wealth or poverty. “A talented child can be born in any family. But the lack of money should never come in the way of children's talent. That is why Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal started this scheme,” she said.

The Education Minister said that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has studied from IIT and he believes that if he was preparing for JEE in today's time, then perhaps his family would not have been able to pay the expensive coaching fees. “In today's era of competition, it is a bit difficult to qualify JEE and NEET without coaching support. So, this scheme was started to enable talented children to fulfill their dreams through free coaching,” said Atishi.

The Education Minister further said that our vision of starting this scheme is that every child of every family can move forward. Encouraging the children, she said, “Seeing the confidence of all of you, I am sure that all of you will definitely qualify the NEET, JEE exam."

Atishi said that those who work hard, move ahead. So, all the students should work hard to fulfill their dreams and not miss this opportunity, she added.

The Education Minister said, “All the children enrolled under this scheme are role models for lakhs of children studying in Delhi government schools. Therefore, you have to qualify the JEE, NEET not only for yourself or your family but also for those lakhs of children studying in Delhi government schools and give this message that even if you do not have money, you can fulfill your dreams based on your hard work.”

She further said that, as a government, we are fulfilling our responsibility, now we expect from the students that they fulfill their dreams and show the world that the children studying in government schools are no less than anyone.

The Education Minister said that children who come from poor families have a passion to prove themselves and achieve something. “This passion is most prevalent in girls. Therefore, from the coming year, we will increase 100 seats for girls under this scheme so that they can give wings to their dreams based on their passion,” she said.
