Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to Celebrate Diwali with Soldiers in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh
This time Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will celebrate Diwali with soldiers in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. The Defence Minister's visit to Tawang is taking place at a time when the process of disengagement in Depsang and Demchok in eastern Ladakh is almost on the verge of completion. Soon patrolling will start as before April 2020, which was stopped since the clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers. Under the mutual agreement between the two countries, not only will the troops withdraw from these two areas but both sides will also remove the temporary structure.
During his visit to Tawang, the Defence Minister will inaugurate the Major Ralengao Bob Khating Veerta Museum and will also unveil the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This Veerta Museum is being built in memory of Major Ralengao Khating, who played an important role in the inclusion of Tawang in Indian territory in 1951.
During his visit, Rajnath Singh will participate in the Indian Air Force's Vayu Veer Vijayeta car rally event. On the occasion of Indian Air Force Day, the 7000 km long 'Vayu Veer Vijayeta' car rally was flagged off from Thoise in Ladakh. Air warriors of the Indian Air Force and veterans of the Uttarakhand War Memorial participated in the rally.
The IAF-UWM rally is led by Wing Commander Vijay Prakash Bhatt of the IAF Adventure Cell. The car rally passed through Kargil, Srinagar, Jammu, Dehradun and ended in Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh on the 29th of this month. The aim of this rally is to spread awareness among the people about the glorious history of the Indian Air Force. However, due to bad weather, Rajnath Singh's helicopter has not been able to fly to Tawang so far. Currently the Defence Minister is in Tezpur.
