Karnataka Congress Leader CK Ravichandran Dies of Heart Attack While Addressing Media in Bengaluru

A tragic incident took place in Karnataka's capital Bengaluru on Monday. During a press conference, Kurupa Community Association president and Congress leader CK Ravichandran (63) died of a heart attack. In fact, Ravichandran was holding a press conference in support of the state's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. During this, he suddenly got a heart attack and fell from the chair and died within no time. The incident has spread a wave of mourning in the Congress party and the local community.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah wrote on social media, "While holding a press conference at the Bengaluru Press Club on behalf of the Karnataka State Backward Classes and Minorities Association against the Governor's prosecution order, the news of the death of association member and our party worker CK Ravichandran due to a heart attack came to light." He further wrote, "The death of Ravichandran, who was with us in this fight to save the Constitution and democracy, is very sad. I pray that his soul rests in peace. I am with his bereaved family and friends."

It is worth mentioning that Ravichandran was a member of the Congress Campaign Committee. He was addressing a press conference at the Press Club against the Governor's sanction for the prosecution of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the Mysuru land scam case. Police said Ravichandran was rushed to Fortis Hospital on Cunningham Road for treatment after suffering a heart attack but he died before reaching the hospital.

Karnataka Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot has sanctioned a probe against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah over alleged irregularities in land allotment by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), triggering protests by the ruling party across the state.
