Congress Appoints Observers Ahead of Maharashtra and Jharkhand Assembly Election Results
Counting of votes for Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections will take place on Saturday and the election results will be out. Before this, Congress has become alert. The party has appointed three observers each for both the states. For Maharashtra, the party has appointed Ashok Gehlot, Bhupesh Baghel and G. Parameshwar as observers. At the same time, Tariq Anwar, Mallu Bhati and Krishna Alavuru have been given the responsibility of observers for Jharkhand.
Congress has appointed these six leaders as observers keeping in mind any situation that may arise after the counting of votes in Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections. A press release was issued in this regard by the party's organization general secretary KC Venugopal. Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwar have been appointed observers for Maharashtra. Senior Congress leader Tariq Anwar, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Indian Youth Congress in-charge Krishna Allavuru have been made All India Congress Committee observers for Jharkhand.
Voting for all 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra was held on November 20, while elections were held in two phases in Jharkhand. In Jharkhand, voting was held on 43 seats in the first phase on November 13, while elections were held on 38 seats in the second and final phase on November 20. Counting of votes in both the states will be held on November 23. In Maharashtra, there is a contest between the 'Mahayuti' alliance of BJP, Shiv Sena and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). Maha Vikas Aghadi includes Congress, Shiv Sena (Ubatha) and Nationalist Congress Party (SP).
In Jharkhand, there is a contest between the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and 'India' alliance. NDA includes BJP, AJSU, Janata Dal (United) and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), while 'India' (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) alliance includes Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
