CM Nitish Kumar Unveils Eco-Tourism Facilities at Kakolat Waterfall in Nawada
Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar inaugurated the tourist facilities at Kakolat waterfall situated in Govindpur block of Nawada district by unveiling the plaque and cutting the ribbon and took stock of the facilities being provided to the tourists.
The Chief Minister also inaugurated the Forest Rest House 'Aranyadhara' by cutting the ribbon. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister also inspected the Forest Rest House. A short film based on Kakolat waterfall development journey was screened in front of the Chief Minister in the auditorium of the Forest Rest House. Forest and Climate Change Minister Dr. Prem Kumar welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting a symbol and a bouquet of flowers. The Chief Minister also planted a tree in the Kakolat waterfall premises. Every year lakhs of people visit Kakolat waterfall but there was a lack of tourist facilities for the people in Kakolat. Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar visited Kakolat waterfall for the first time in the year 2013 and gave many instructions for the development of tourist facilities, after which many tourist facilities were developed here in the year 2013-14. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, many other works were started in 2022 to provide facilities for tourists at Kakolat waterfall. Today, with the inauguration of the development work of eco-tourism facilities at Kakolat waterfall, tourists will be able to enjoy the natural beauty. Kakolat waterfall has been made accessible, safe and attractive for tourists. There was always a possibility of falling stones while climbing the mountain in Kakolat, due to which people could not reach the waterfall regularly and they were afraid of getting injured, so first of all stone stabilization work was done in which the falling stones have been tied with iron mesh. Now the possibility of stone falling is over. A staircase has been constructed to reach Kakolat waterfall. The pond below the waterfall has been reconstructed and a staircase has also been built in it so that people can easily descend and take a bath. An attractive grand main gate, 6 cafeterias, selfie points, administrative building, toilets, ticket counter, lounge and tourist information center and water tank etc. have been built in Kakolat by cutting stones. There are sit outs above and below and changing rooms for men and women.
By purifying the water of the waterfall through a water treatment plant and making it drinkable, drinking water arrangements have been made in attractive hilly form at various places. A children's zone has been made for children, which has a park, swing, sit out etc. Parking area, a large number of benches for sitting and food shops have been constructed for tourists. On one hand, the development of Kakolat will increase the number of tourists in this area, on the other hand, local people will also get employment.
Due to eco tourism facilities and other development works at Kakolat waterfall, it was closed for people, now all the eco tourism facilities have been developed here. After its inauguration by the Chief Minister, it has been opened for all the people. There is an atmosphere of happiness among the people seeing the development of Kakolat.
On this occasion, Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department Dr. Prem Kumar, along with other public representatives, Chief Minister's Principal Secretary Mr. Deepak Kumar, Secretary of Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department Mrs. Bandana Preyashi, Chief Minister's Special Officer Mr. Gopal Singh, Commissioner of Magadh Division Mr. Mayank Barbade, Inspector General of Police of Magadh Region Mr. Kshatranil Singh, District Magistrate of Nawada Mr. Ashutosh Kumar Verma, Superintendent of Police of Nawada Mr. Ambrish Rahul and other senior officers were present.
