CM Nitish Kumar Lays Foundation for 1 Lakh LPD Milk Production Plant in Gopalganj
Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today laid the foundation stone of a milk production plant of one lakh liters per day capacity in Bairiya village of Kateya block of Gopalganj district by performing Bhoomi Pujan and unveiling the stone plaque. Through the site plan, the officials gave detailed information about the benefits to the cattle rearers of the surrounding area and the employment to the people etc. from the milk production plant to be set up in Bairiya.
After the foundation stone laying, the Chief Minister inspected the stalls set up by Animal and Fisheries Resources Department, Agriculture Department, Rural Development Department, COMFED, Jeevika, Education Department and Social Welfare Department. During the inspection, the Chief Minister provided the keys of battery operated tricycles to the beneficiaries under the Divyang Empowerment Student Scheme. Instructing the officials, the Chief Minister said that the foundation stone of the milk production plant has been laid here today, complete its work within the stipulated time frame. After its completion, the people of the surrounding area will get a lot of benefit. He said that life is safe only between water and greenery, keeping this in mind, we started the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan. It is the responsibility of all of us to protect the environment.
It is worth noting that under Saat Nishchay-2, the state government has approved the formation of 7,000 new milk committees by the financial year 2024-25, under which a large number of milk committees are to be formed in Gopalganj district as well. Local processing of milk obtained from the newly formed committees will encourage people to join the field of milk production. Keeping this in mind, a milk production plant with a capacity of 1 lakh liters per day is being set up here, the total project amount of which is Rs 53.64 crore. The total area of this milk production plant is 10.81 acres, of which 7197 square meters will be used for the construction of legislation plant, administrative building, service block, PTP storage etc. The state government is also giving subsidy to people on the purchase of milch animals. This milk production plant being set up in Gopalganj district will not only benefit the farmers of Gopalganj district but will also benefit about 50 thousand farmers of Siwan and West Champaran districts.
Animal and Fisheries Resources Minister Smt. Renu Devi welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting a flower bouquet, while Principal Secretary of Animal and Fisheries Resources Department Dr. N. Vijayalakshmi welcomed him by presenting a sapling.
