CM Nitish Kumar Launches Pragati Yatra, Inaugurates ₹172 Crore Development Projects in West Champaran
Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today started the first phase of 'Pragati Yatra' from Tharu Tola Ghotwa located in Santpur Sohariya Panchayat under Bagaha-2 block of West Champaran district. During the tour, the Chief Minister visited Tharu Tola Ghotwa and took stock of the developmental works done through various schemes. During this, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone by unveiling the stone plaque related to 41 schemes costing Rs 172.19817 crore in Tharu Tola Ghotwa.
During the Tharu Tola Ghotwa tour, the Chief Minister inspected the peel constructed by MNREGA, Health and Wellness Center, Waste Management Unit, Park and Open Gym constructed by Zilla Parishad, Chief Minister Rural Street Light Scheme, Nali-Gali Scheme, Nal Jal Scheme, Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme etc. The Tharu community and Jeevika Didi showered flowers to welcome the Chief Minister. During the tour, the Chief Minister talked to the local people and listened to their problems and directed the officials to resolve them as soon as possible.
The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the construction of structures in the field of electrification from off-grid to on-grid for 11798 houses in 25 villages of Tharuhat region at a cost of Rs 139.04 crore under the Energy Department.
Giving information about the situation before the development work done in Tharu Tola Ghotwa, the officials told the Chief Minister that Tharu Tola Ghotwa is situated on the banks of Don Canal, which is located near the Valmikinagar forest. During the rainy season, due to the rise in water level, not only the traffic was stopped but the connection of this village with other villages was also lost. The sick had difficulty even going out for treatment. With the construction of the peel, along with smooth traffic, connectivity will be maintained in the village. Similarly, due to off-grid power supply in 25 panchayats of Tharu region, power supply in these areas was for a short time. With on-grid electrification, adequate and quality power will be supplied uninterruptedly in these areas.
The Chief Minister visited the stalls set up by the Tharu community and Jeevika sisters in Tharu Tola Ghotwa for various products being manufactured locally. The Chief Minister planted a sapling in the open gym premises. On the arrival of the Chief Minister, the villagers expressed their gratitude for his development work by making rangoli in front of their houses.
The local public representatives, leaders and the district administration felicitated the Chief Minister by presenting him with a bouquet and a memento and by garlanding him with a big garland of flowers.

While embarking on the Pragati Yatra, a large number of public representatives and people greeted Chief Minister Mr. Nitish Kumar at Patna Airport. The Chief Minister inaugurated and inspected the newly constructed special guest room (lounge) at Patna Airport.
