CM Nitish Kumar Launches Development Projects Worth Rs 109 Crore in Siwan

Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today gifted schemes worth about Rs 109 crore to Siwan district in the course of Pragati Yatra. The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 127 developmental schemes through remote. These include inauguration of 122 schemes at a cost of Rs 83 crore 47 lakh 37 thousand and laying the foundation stone of 5 schemes at a cost of Rs 25 crore 38 lakh 27 thousand.

The Chief Minister inspected the site of the proposed Siwan-Bypass in village Narayanpur of Pachrukhi block in the course of Pragati Yatra. The officials gave detailed information to the Chief Minister regarding the proposed Siwan-Bypass through the map. Widening and strengthening work including ROB is to be done in the proposed path from Mohammadpur Mor (NH-531) to Chhapia-Tedhighat-Gopalpur (NH-227A). The total length of this proposed path is 13.80 km. While instructing the officials, the Chief Minister said that the work on this proposed path should be started as soon as possible. Its construction will make traffic easier. People will also get relief from the problem of traffic jam. After this, the Chief Minister inspected the pond beautified under the Jal-Jeevan Hariyali Abhiyan in village Karhanu of Machkana Panchayat located in Hussainganj block of Siwan district. During this, the Chief Minister released fish seeds in the pond. While inspecting the pond, while instructing the officials, the Chief Minister said that a stepped ghat should be constructed around this pond. This will provide convenience to the people. Tree plantation has been done here around the pond in a good manner. This is a good thing. We have been doing the work of beautification and renovation of all public ponds, ponds, wells etc. by starting the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan from the year 2019.

The Chief Minister inspected the Anganwadi Center in Ward No. 2 of Karhanu village and took information about the education of the children. The Chief Minister also inspected the Additional Primary Health Center Karhanu, Hussainganj and took stock of the OPD room, tele medicine etc. During this, the Chief Minister said that since the year 2006, we have been distributing free medicines to patients in all government hospitals. After the year 2005, a lot of work has been done in the field of health so that people do not face any inconvenience in treatment. The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone by unveiling the plaque related to many development schemes of Siwan district through remote. The Chief Minister inaugurated the public playground constructed under MNREGA at a cost of Rs 8.74 lakh in the premises of Upgraded Middle School Karhanu by cutting the ribbon and unveiling the plaque.

The Chief Minister inspected the Public Service Center and Panchayat Government Building Machkana and took stock of the Sarpanch Court, Library etc. The Chief Minister inaugurated the MNREGA Haat constructed at a cost of Rs 7.18 lakh in the premises of Karhanu Bazaar by unveiling the plaque. On this occasion, the Chief Minister observed the stalls set up by Jeevika Didi and various departments. During this, the Chief Minister provided Basgeet Parcha, symbolic cheque of Rs 51 crore to Jeevika Didi under Sustainable Livelihood Scheme and Project Fund. Along with this, the Chief Minister also provided the key of e-rickshaw under Sustainable Livelihood Scheme, symbolic cheque of Rs 42 lakh 6 thousand 736 incentive amount to 19 Jeevika Didi, symbolic cheque of Rs 101 crore by bank linkage to 3,51,506 Jeevika Didi associated with 29 thousand 663 self-help groups, key of Jeevika Bhawan, symbolic cheque of Chief Minister Chaur Vikas Yojana, key of Chief Minister Block Transport Scheme, key of battery operated vehicle under Chief Minister Divyangjan Empowerment Chhatra Yojana, Bihar Student Credit Card, Ayushman Vaya Vandana Card to the beneficiaries.

The Chief Minister participated in the dialogue program of Jeevika Didi organized in the sequence of Pragati Yatra. Jeevika didis shared their experience with the Chief Minister and said that self-help groups have brought a lot of change in our lives. By joining self-help groups, we are doing many types of work. We are earning good income from this. This has increased the respect of women in the society. Apart from bank loan, we also get financial help from the project for doing business. Jeevika has changed our lives. All of us women express our gratitude to you.

The Chief Minister said that when we were MPs and ministers at the Centre, we used to visit many places and see the work of self-help groups. When our government was formed in the year 2005, in the year 2006, we took a loan from the World Bank and started increasing the number of self-help groups. Now the number of self-help groups has increased to 10 lakh 61 thousand, with 1 crore 31 lakh women associated with them. He said that we ourselves gave the name Jeevika to the women associated with self-help groups. Inspired by this, the central government of that time started a scheme named Aajeevika. Wherever we go, we talk to Jeevika sisters and get to know their problems. Earlier, women did not go out of their homes. Now they are doing very good work by joining self-help groups. Due to which they are also earning income. They have also started talking to people in a good manner.
