CM Nitish Kumar Inspects Key Infrastructure Projects in Patna
Museum tunnel, cultural upgrades, and metro rail progress reviewed as Bihar's capital city gears up for urban transformation
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted a comprehensive inspection of several ongoing infrastructure projects in Patna today, focusing on cultural and transportation developments that promise to enhance the city's appeal and functionality.
The Chief Minister inspected the under-construction tunnel connecting Bihar Museum and Patna Museum. He directed officials to expedite the completion of this project, which aims to facilitate easy movement of visitors between the two cultural landmarks. The tunnel is expected to boost tourism by allowing seamless access to exhibits in both museums.
Mr. Anjani Kumar Singh, Director General of Bihar Museum, briefed the CM on entry arrangements, parking facilities, and other tourist amenities. CM Kumar emphasized the need for proper parking arrangements and landscaping to make the area more attractive.
Following the tunnel inspection, the Chief Minister reviewed the expansion and upgradation work at Patna Museum. He inspected new facilities including a kitchen, store, temporary gallery, auditorium, collection store, and conservation lab. A short film showcasing the museum's upgradation was screened for the CM, who instructed officials to expedite the work while maintaining quality.
The final leg of the inspection focused on the progress of the Patna Metro Rail Project. CM Kumar reviewed the construction status of several metro stations including Rajendra Nagar, Mainulhaq Stadium, Malahi Pakadi, Khemnichak, Pahaadi Par, Zira Mile, and ISBT. He stressed the importance of adhering to the project timeline to ensure Patna residents can benefit from improved public transportation as soon as possible.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, who also holds the portfolio of Art, Culture and Youth Department, along with several high-ranking officials from various departments.
These projects collectively represent significant steps in Patna's urban development, aiming to boost cultural tourism and improve public transportation infrastructure in the state capital.
