CM Nitish Kumar Inspects Buddha Smriti Stupa in Vaishali, Directs Speedy Completion
Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today inspected the ongoing construction work at the Buddha Smriti Stupa in Vaishali and directed officials to complete the project expeditiously.
During the inspection, the CM reviewed the development works in the entire complex and visited the Buddha Stupa's ground floor and first floor to take stock of the construction progress. He also inspected the library and meditation room and inquired about the arrangements.
The Building Construction Department Secretary, Kumar Ravi, briefed the CM about the progress of the Buddha Smriti Stupa and Museum project. The CM later chaired a review meeting at the visitor center, where Kumar Ravi made a presentation about the project's key components, including the Buddha Stupa, museum block, library, meditation room, visitor center, guest house, and display plan.
The CM directed officials to complete the remaining work within two months and plant trees in the complex. He also emphasized the need for better roads and water bodies within the complex to facilitate easy movement of tourists.
CM Nitish Kumar said, "We frequently visit this site and inspect the construction work. Complete the work as per the plan and at a fast pace." He added that Vaishali is a historic and mythological place, and the Buddha Smriti Stupa will attract a large number of tourists, generating employment opportunities.
The Buddha Smriti Stupa and Museum will showcase events related to Lord Buddha's life and Buddhist religion. The CM also suggested displaying the transformation of Vaishali Garh and the development works undertaken by the government.
