CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurates Revival of Riga Sugar Mill and Development Projects in Sitamarhi

Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today inaugurated the revival work of Riga Sugar Mill in Sitamarhi district by unveiling the stone plaque on the third day of the first phase of Pragati Yatra. The Chief Minister inaugurated the operation of the sugar mill for the season 2024-25 by putting a bundle of sugarcane. During this, the Chief Minister took information about the operational works of Riga Sugar Mill and took stock of the mill premises.

The Chief Minister was welcomed by presenting a symbol, a shawl and a bouquet of flowers during the program.

After this, the Chief Minister took stock of the development works of Maniyari village of Dumra block. During this, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various schemes worth Rs 236 crore 60 lakh for Sitamarhi district through remote. Under this, schemes worth Rs 141 crore 12 lakh 92 thousand were inaugurated and the foundation stone of schemes worth Rs 95 crore 47 lakh 78 thousand was laid. The Chief Minister inaugurated the Satuahi pond, Maniyari (in Dumra) boating and the yoga cum meditation center, open gymnasium and children's play area built under the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan by unveiling the plaque.

During this, the Chief Minister flew the balloon of Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan. The Chief Minister also released a pair of swans in the Satuahi pond. Inspected the yoga cum meditation center. During the inspection of the pond, the Chief Minister said that stairs should be made around it and a protective fence should be made on the side so that no one falls into the pond. The pond should be made in such a way that it looks attractive and at the same time there should be proper arrangements for people to roam and sit here.

After this, the Chief Minister inspected the various stalls set up. He gave a symbolic cheque of Rs 36 crore 57 lakh to the Jeevika sisters. During this, an exhibition of products prepared by the Jeevika sisters was organized which the Chief Minister observed. During this, the Chief Minister told the Jeevika sisters that we started Jeevika in the year 2006. We named it 'Jeevika' and the women joining it were called 'Jeevika Didi'. Later, the central government of that time appreciated the work of Jeevika in Bihar and imitating it, started it in the name of 'Ajeevika' across the country. We have done many works for the benefit of Jeevika Didis. You all should remember this. You all are doing very good work, I am very happy to see this. We want you all to always keep moving forward. The Chief Minister also inspected the stalls set up by departments like Lohia Swachh Bihar Abhiyan, MNREGA, Agriculture Department, District Tuberculosis Center, Industry Department, Skilled Youth Program, Integrated Child Development Project etc. The Chief Minister provided a symbolic cheque of Rs 2000 to the mothers who gave birth under the Kanya Utthan Yojana. Symbolic cheques were provided to the beneficiaries of e-rickshaws, beneficiaries of various beneficial schemes including Ayushman Card. After this, the Chief Minister inaugurated the new Panchayat Government Building of Gram Panchayat Manihari by unveiling the stone plaque and took information about various centers of the Panchayat Government Building.

During this, before reaching Sitamarhi, the Chief Minister did an aerial inspection of Madhkaul Tutan place under Belsand block.

Siddharth, Principal Secretary of Public Health Engineering Department Mr. Pankaj Kumar, ADG Mr. Kundan Krishnan, Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Kumar Ravi, Special Officer to the Chief Minister Mr. Gopal Singh, Secretary of Road Construction Department Mr. B. Karthikeya Dhanji, District Magistrate of Sitamarhi District Mr. Richie Pandey, Superintendent of Police Mr. Manoj Kumar Tiwari and other senior officers were present.
