CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurates Developmental Projects Worth ₹514 Crore in Kishanganj
Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 236 developmental schemes worth Rs 514.28 crore through remote from the newly constructed District Emergency Response Facility-cum-Training Center located at Maheshbathana in Kishanganj district in the third phase of Pragati Yatra. These include inauguration of schemes of various departments at a cost of Rs 151.17 crore and foundation stone laying at a cost of Rs 363.09 crore.
The Chief Minister inspected the problems related to the proposed Thakurganj bypass road in village Kathaldangi located in Gram Panchayat Pateshwari of Thakurganj block and gave many necessary guidelines to the officials. The Chief Minister said that the construction work of Thakurganj bypass should be started as soon as possible. With the construction of this bypass, people will get a lot of convenience in commuting. Along with this, connectivity with the surrounding areas will increase. The total length of the proposed Thakurganj bypass is 4.01 km and width is 10 meters, the estimated cost of which is Rs 41.30 crore. The officials also gave detailed information to the Chief Minister through site plan regarding the widening and strengthening work of 65,350 km long State Highway No. 39 (Baysi Bahadurganj Didhal Bank) road under Purnia and Kishanganj district and the proposed Asura-Nishnadra Ghat bridge and approach road construction work.
The Chief Minister visited village Kathaldangi (Thakurganj) and took stock of the developmental works and interacted with the local people and also became aware of their problems. The Chief Minister inspected the pond constructed under Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan in village Kathaldangi and directed the officials to build a stepped ghat around the pond. He said that having a stepped ghat on the banks of the pond provides a lot of convenience to the people. The Chief Minister observed the stalls set up by various departments in village Kathaldangi and distributed benefits among the beneficiaries of the schemes. During this, the Chief Minister gave certificate of settlement of government land for residence to eligible category landless people under Abhiyan Basera-02, symbolic cheque of Chief Minister Minority Student Incentive Scheme, symbolic cheque of Chief Minister Abandoned/Divorced Woman Assistance Scheme, symbolic cheque of Chief Minister Minority Entrepreneur Scheme, keys of newly constructed houses under Chief Minister Rural Housing Scheme, keys of community sanitation complex, keys of battery operated tricycle to disabled people under Chief Minister Divyangjan Empowerment Chhatra Yojana to the beneficiaries. The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of many schemes under Kishanganj district through remote. These include inauguration of 8 cattle shelters, inauguration of public toilet in ward number-5 of Pateshwari Panchayat, foundation stone laying of Jeevika Organization Office Building, inauguration of Pateshwari Welcome Gate-cum-Paver Block Interlocking Construction Work, foundation stone laying of Anganwadi Center Building.
After this, the Chief Minister saw the model of Adarsh Gram Panchayat in Ward No. 4 of Halamla Gram Panchayat of Motihari. The various buildings built in this Adarsh Gram Panchayat model were inaugurated by unveiling the plaque. The Chief Minister inspected the playground, lake, waste management unit built in the premises. During the inspection of the lake, the Chief Minister said that it is very well built. Make a staircase next to it so that people can roam here. After this, the Chief Minister inspected the stalls set up by various departments.
While inspecting the stall of Self Help Group, while talking to Jeevika Didis, the Chief Minister said that in the year 2005, when we got a chance to work in Bihar, we saw that the number of self-help groups here is negligible. We started increasing the number of self-help groups by taking a loan from the World Bank. We named the women associated with self-help groups as 'Jeevika Didi', inspired by which the then Central Government named it 'Ajeevika'. This has improved the economic condition of the women of Bihar a lot. Women are becoming self-reliant by joining self-help groups. Their dressing and speaking style has also improved a lot. They have started talking to people without hesitation. I congratulate all of you Jeevika Didis for doing better work.
The Chief Minister also inspected the stalls of Health Department, Education Department, Industry Department, Integrated Child Development Project, Agriculture Department, Transport Department. During this, the Chief Minister provided symbolic cheques of Rs 137 crore to 11 thousand 486 self-help groups, Rs 14 crore 33 lakh to 2305 self-help groups and Rs 5 crore 40 lakh to 306 self-help groups for livelihood to Jeevika Didis. The Chief Minister provided a cheque of Rs 4 lakh to the beneficiary under the Chief Minister Chaur Vikas Yojana. He also provided the keys of the vehicle to the beneficiaries of the Chief Minister Block Transport Scheme.
After this, the Chief Minister inspected the Deramari Minority Residential School of Kochadhaman and inquired about the arrangements there and the facilities available to the students. The Chief Minister inspected various stalls related to the educational work prepared by the students and talked to the students. The Chief Minister told the students to study diligently and live well. The Chief Minister unveiled the plaque and laid the foundation stone for the construction of a footover bridge between the residential complex and the educational complex of the Minority Residential School at a cost of Rs 318.68 lakh.
