CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurates and Lays Foundation Stones for ₹201 Crore Projects in East Champaran

Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today took stock of the development works in Sundarapur village of Kesaria in East Champaran district during the Pragati Yatra. During this, the Chief Minister inaugurated 62 schemes worth Rs 114.82 crore and laid the foundation stone of 42 schemes worth Rs 86.30 crore for East Champaran district through remote, that is, a total of 104 schemes worth Rs 201.12 crore were inaugurated and laid the foundation stone.

The Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed building of Upgraded Higher Secondary School, Sundarapur at Sundarapur by unveiling the plaque at a cost of Rs 97.011 lakh by Bihar State Educational Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited. After the inauguration, the Chief Minister visited the computer and ICT room. The Chief Minister saw the computer teaching work being conducted in the school and took information about computer teaching from the children. During this, the Chief Minister went to the smart class and took information about the teaching work from the children and the teacher. Basic computer education is provided to the children in the school. Also, through ICT, children are introduced to educational concepts in an entertaining way.

After this, the Chief Minister took stock of the construction work of the playground in the school premises. He saw the construction work of basketball court, volleyball court, badminton court, kabaddi court and running track built by MNREGA and encouraged the players present there. Instructing the officials, the Chief Minister said that the playground should be prepared in a good manner where there is every kind of facility for children to play. Children should study well as well as participate in sports activities.

After this, the Chief Minister inaugurated the pond built by MNREGA under the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Yojana and put fish seeds in the pond. Also, the Chief Minister handed over the management of the pond to Jeevika Didi by giving certificates. On this occasion, the Chief Minister inspected the various stalls set up. During this, the Chief Minister observed the exhibition of products prepared by Jeevika Didi. The Chief Minister told Jeevika Didi that we started Jeevika in the year 2006. We named it 'Jeevika' and the women joining it were called 'Jeevika Didi'. Later, the central government of that time appreciated the work of Jeevika in Bihar and imitating it, started it in the name of 'Ajeevika' across the country. We have done many works for the benefit of Jeevika sisters. You all should remember this. You all are doing very good work, I am very happy to see this. You all should keep moving forward like this. During this, the Chief Minister provided symbolic cheques of financial assistance of bank linkage of Rs 3 crore 35 lakh to 1 lakh 26 thousand 354 Jeevika sisters.

The Chief Minister also visited the exhibition set up by the beneficiaries of the Chief Minister Udyam Yojana, saw their products being manufactured and praised them. Also, information was also taken about the manufacturing work of various products.

After this, the Chief Minister inspected the stall set up by the Rural Development Department and took information about the work being done under the Swachh Gaon-Samridh Bihar Yojana. During this, the Chief Minister provided a symbolic cheque of Rs 1 lakh 20 thousand to the beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana for housing construction.

The Chief Minister also inspected the stall set up by the Animal and Fisheries Resources Department and provided a symbolic cheque of Rs 1 lakh 20 thousand for RAS installation under Saat Nishchay Yojana 2. Also, fish marketing kits were made available to the beneficiaries of urban and rural areas. On this occasion, the Chief Minister gave the keys of bicycle-cum-icebox, motorcycle-cum-icebox, three-wheeler e-rickshaw-cum-ibox to the fish sellers for clean and timely fish distribution under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana.

The Chief Minister saw the mushrooms and dragon fruit prepared by the Agriculture Department and took information about other products.

The Chief Minister provided a symbolic cheque of Rs 2000 to the mother of a girl child born under the Kanya Utthan Yojana. Also, the Chief Minister met the child patients who were cured under the Chief Minister's Child Heart Disease Scheme and took information about their health. Along with this, a symbolic cheque of Rs 5 lakh was given to the beneficiaries of Ayushman Card Scheme. The Chief Minister distributed forms for building houses to 245 landless families. There is a provision to give compensation in case of atrocities on Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe persons. Under this, the Chief Minister provided symbolic cheques to the beneficiaries.

The Chief Minister also provided symbolic cheques to the beneficiaries of Bihar Student Credit Card Scheme. The Chief Minister observed the exhibition related to the use of Teaching Learning Material (TLM) for quality education in schools. In order to provide quality education to children in schools, teaching work is done by preparing Teaching Learning Material (TLM) by teachers. TLM is prepared using local material and resources. For Divyang children also, TLM is prepared by inclusive special teacher/rehabilitation specialist and quality education is given to Divyang children like normal children.

The Chief Minister took information about the medicines and fertilizers prepared by the Agriculture Department for agricultural work. The Chief Minister also took information about the Agricultural Mechanization Scheme and also provided keys to its beneficiaries.

During the inspection, Water Resources Minister Mr. Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Education Minister cum Minister in-charge of East Champaran Mr. Sunil Kumar, MLA Mrs. Shalini Mishra and other public representatives, Chief Secretary Mr. Amrit Lal Meena, Director General of Police Mr. Vinay Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary of Education Department cum Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. S. Siddharth, Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Anupam Kumar, Secretary of Rural Development Department Mr. Lokesh Kumar Singh, Special Officer to the Chief Minister Mr. Gopal Singh, Chairman of Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation Limited Mr. Shirshat Kapil Ashok, Superintendent of Police of East Champaran District Mr. Swarn Prabhat and other senior officers were present.
