CM Nitish Kumar Inaugurates ₹166.96 Crore Development Projects in Katihar

Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of a total of 145 developmental schemes worth Rs 166.96 crore through remote from the Panchayat Government Building premises of Rampur Panchayat of Koda block of Katihar district in the third phase of Pragati Yatra. This includes the inauguration of 88 schemes worth Rs 56.50 crore and the foundation stone laying of 57 schemes worth Rs 110.48 crore.

The Chief Minister took stock of various developmental works in Rampur Panchayat located in Koda block. During this, he inspected the Health and Wellness Center, MNREGA Bhawan, PACS Bhawan and Right to Public Services Center located in Rampur Panchayat Government Building. The Chief Minister inspected the entire premises of the Panchayat Government Building and took stock of the Panchayat Gyan Kendra and various parts of the Panchayat Government Building. The Chief Minister said that the Panchayat Government Building has been built well. All the problems of the people will be solved at one place and they will get convenience. The Chief Minister took stock of the Anganwadi Center. During this, the Chief Minister met the children of Anganwadi Center, Katihar and inquired about the educational work and motivated them to study. The Chief Minister also inspected the Upkramit Uchch Madhyamik Vidyalaya, Rampur and talked to the children there and inquired about the educational work etc. The Chief Minister inaugurated the playground by cutting the ribbon and met the players present there. He also encouraged them to play along with studying.

After this, the Chief Minister inspected the stalls set up by various departments. During this, he inquired about the various activities and products being done by the Jeevika Didis of the Self Help Group for livelihood. The Chief Minister gave a symbolic cheque of Rs 38 crore to 4647 self-help groups, a symbolic cheque of Rs 11 crore 30 lakh to 2713 Jeevika Didi families, a symbolic cheque of Rs 306 crore to 6430 self-help groups, a symbolic cheque of Rs 2 crore 89 lakh to 1075 Jeevika Didis. He also saw the various products displayed at the stall of Jeevika Didis and talked to them. The Chief Minister said that in the year 2005, when we got a chance to work in Bihar, we saw that the number of self-help groups here was negligible. We took a loan from the World Bank and started increasing the number of self-help groups. We named the self-help groups 'Jeevika' and the women associated with them 'Jeevika Didi', inspired by which the then Central Government implemented it in the whole country in the name of 'Ajeevika'. This has improved the economic condition of the women of Bihar a lot. Women are becoming self-reliant by joining self-help groups. Their dressing and speaking style has also improved. They have started talking to people without hesitation. I congratulate all of you Jeevika sisters for doing good work. May you all move ahead and progress a lot.

The Chief Minister inspected the stalls of the Industries Department, Health Department, Rural Development Department, Agriculture Department, Animal and Fisheries Resources Department, Social Welfare Department and Education Department etc. During this, he provided symbolic cheques to the beneficiaries of Chief Minister Udyam Udyam Yojana, Startup Yojana, Student Credit Card Yojana and District Cow Development Scheme.

After this, the Chief Minister took information regarding the construction of the proposed sports complex at Rajendra Stadium. During this, he inspected the stadium and met the players present there. The Chief Minister said that the sports complex should be constructed well so that the children can play well, run and do not face any kind of inconvenience.

The Chief Minister took information about various implemented schemes related to road construction under Katihar district. Giving information to the Chief Minister regarding the road widening and strengthening work of State Highway No. 98 (Katihar-Balrampur) under Katihar district, the officials said that its length will be 62.882 km. Its proposed cost will be Rs 702.508 crore. Giving information about the construction work of railway over bridge between (Katihar-Mukuria) and (Katihar-Jogbani) Sahebpara Chowk of Katihar Railway Division under Katihar district, the officials said that its length will be 1070.20 m and its cost will be Rs 192.83 crore. The Chief Minister was informed about the development work in relation to Gogabil Lake through a sketch. During this, the Chief Minister said that get it developed in a good manner.

The Chief Minister inspected the Minority Boys Hostel in Sharifganj and during this time laid the foundation stone of various schemes related to the Minority Department through remote. During this, he inspected the stalls of various development schemes related to the Minority Department set up in the campus. He gave symbolic cheques of Rs 25,000 to the beneficiaries of Muslim Abandoned Divorced Women Assistance Scheme, Rs 15,000 to the beneficiaries of Chief Minister's Minority Students' Incentive Scheme and Rs 50,000 each to Muslim graduate girl students. He also gave symbolic cheques of Rs 3,75,000 and Rs 16 lakh to the beneficiaries of Chief Minister's Udyami Scheme.

Before the start of the programme, the Chief Minister conducted an aerial survey of Gogabil lake in Ahmedabad block and took information from the officials.
