Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Unveils Development Projects in Vaishali

Hon’ble Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, in his recent visit to Vaishali district, unveiled a series of initiatives aimed at addressing key issues and promoting sustainable development in the region. These projects focus on flood prevention, infrastructure development, tourism, and industrial growth, promising to bring transformative changes to the district.

Flood Management and Infrastructure Development

  1. Dredging of the Vaya River: To mitigate the recurring flood issues caused by the Vaya River, dredging operations will be undertaken. This initiative will benefit residents across eight blocks by reducing water overflow and safeguarding their livelihoods.
  2. Strengthening Embankments on the Gandak River: Embankments on the remaining portions of the Hajipur side of the Gandak River will be constructed and fortified. This will help prevent floods and waterlogging in the affected areas.
  3. Drainage System for Hajipur City: A new drainage system will be constructed in Hajipur city to resolve the persistent issue of waterlogging, providing much-needed relief to residents.

Tourism and Environmental Conservation

Development of Barela Lake: Barela Lake, a renowned bird sanctuary and a hotspot for migratory birds, will undergo beautification and development. This project aims to enhance tourism potential and boost fisheries, positioning the lake as a key ecological and economic resource for the district.

Boosting Education and Industrial Growth

  1. New Degree College in Goraul: Recognizing the need for accessible higher education, a degree college will be established in Goraul. This will provide students from nearby areas with quality education close to home.
  2. Industrial Park Along Amas-Darbhanga Road: A large industrial park spanning 1,293 acres will be developed along the Amas-Darbhanga road in Vaishali district. This project aims to attract investments, create job opportunities, and establish the district as a hub of industrial activity.

Electricity Infrastructure Improvements

  1. Grid Sub-Station in Mahua: A new grid sub-station will be constructed in Mahua to address power supply challenges in the region.
  2. Power Sub-Stations in Four Blocks: Additional power sub-stations will be built across four blocks to ensure uninterrupted electricity for residents and businesses.
